So …many people were wondering about Mr G. Including my friends

Let me do a short introduction.

Mr G is a South Korean. And yes , he is younger than me.

He will be going back in a few months’ time.

He asked me out on a date a week after my breakup.

You can see half of his face in the previous post.

Met up with friends and they asked ” What is the difference between dating a Singaporean and a South Korean ? ” I wouldn’t want to compare that much because there are good Singaporean men and different people have different way of courtship.

So , curious friends asked if South Korean men prefer older women ? No..not all..just that age doesn’t matter to some of them. As long as you are not 5 years older. The difference between dating someone younger and someone older is that the younger ones are more fun and interesting. They are willing to experience new things. Dates were more interesting than the normal dinner and movies. They are really attentive. Because you are older , you will want to look after them and they are really appreciative. Mr G says ” Thank you ” to me everyday which makes me felt appreciated. I met some of Mr G friends. I would say some of them are really independent. South Korea is very big. Their hometown maybe in Incheon but they are studying in Seoul. So they lived alone in Seoul for a few years. They looked after themselves and do their own household chores. Friends who met Mr G agreed that he is very mature in his thinking and actions. You will be surprised that they think way ahead of you even though you are older.

And they are good with words. I was swooned over so many times that i thought i was in a korean drama hahaha. Somethings they said will make you go WOW. But you know , women like to listen to good things. Most of them prefer thin women. They looked at your face and body first. Which explains why the girls there are very sensitive about their looks. Very competitive. They really take the effort to dress up and put on a lot of make up. The men also take a lot of effort to look good. From their facial care to their hair and clothes. Having a good looking woman beside boosts a man’s pride among his friends. A man’s pride is very important in the country. A man’s ability is his pride. HIs ability in career , love and family. 

Do they carry their gf’s bags and clutches etc ? Yes they do. In SG , some women felt uncomfortable and some men think that it is not manly. But to them , it is just helping my gf to carry her bag to lighten her load and nothing to be ashamed of. Mr G don’t allow me to bend down to tie my own shoe laces or pick up whatever i dropped on the floor. He do that for me. I felt kinda WOW haha cos no one did that to me before and i really appreciate it. 

Do the men hit women like what you see on Korean drama ? Mr G thinks that a man shouldn’t hit a woman no matter what. Infact all my guy friends think so too. Told him about my experiences and he was blowing fire and string of vulgarities came out from his mouth the entire day.

They are really polite and respect their parents a lot. Esp their mothers. If you have a Korean boyfriend,  you need to win over their mother’s heart first.

Lastly , are they MCP ? In Mr G case , i will say no. Like i said , a man’s ability is his pride. Just that certain things , they felt that it is their duty and they should do it and accomplish by themselves.

Btw , i gained weight. I need to lose some weight to fit into some of my clothes now. 

Everyone told me that i look much happier and bubbly now. That’s why i gained weight.

It’s true. Im very happy. 

And i love all my friends who were there for me when i need them the most . Jolynn , Zien , Pox, Huey , Melvin , Tze yong , Fiona etc etc…

Not that i wanna pangseh the lunch/dinner. Just that I’m very very swarmed with a lot of work lately ! I can’t wait to meet all of them for steamboat on 20th Jan I miss them !

I can’t type much now because it is straining my eyes a little bit too much.

So i went to Lasik Surgery Clinic at Paragon on Friday for my pre lasik evaluation and the surgery done in the afternoon. All on the same day. I requested for everything to be done on that day itself when i called to make the appointment.

I booked my appt at 930am and went through soo many round of tests until 2pm before i was ushered to a comfortable waiting area to wait for 2.5 hours for my surgery. My surgery started at 5pm.

i was told  to watch 2 videos to know more about how lasik procedure.

The surgery was pretty fast…20 mins..it was really scary. I can see the entire process.

First i was told to lie down under a machine. This machine/laser creates the cornea flap

The only discomfort was when he this suction ring was placed on my eyeball. I felt the pressure. Next i know was laser beamed on my eyes and black out for 30 seconds

It went on for both eyes.

And i was shifted to another machine . The doctor flipped open the cornea flap. Yes , i can see the entire procedure before i was told to focus on a red light and the laser started working on my eyes. He flipped it back and swiped it neatly to remove any creases or bubbles under the cornea flap. And he moved on to the next eye.

Last thing i heard was :” Alright , Peiling …it was done ” . He went on to check on my eyes.

It all went well and the moment i sat up , i can see. The nurses started dripping antibiotic drops to my eye. And then slowly my eyes started swelling a little and tear very badly. I can still sms but it was really straining. My eyes were sensitive to lights. The nurses put on eye shields for me to protect the eyes.  I can’t open my eyes because it was really bright and it hurts.

My dad picked me up. So if you were to go for Lasik , get someone to pick you up. Don’t take cab alone..because you will be tearing and cannot open your eyes . I was prescribed sleeping pills to take and sleep to rest the eyes fully and so that the tearing and swell will stop. And i have to apply antibiotic eye drops every hour for the first day and every 4 hours from next day onwards. Also i was given lubricating eye drops.

 This was taken at 5am . I slept from 6pm till 3am in the morning. I was really hungry because i didn’t had any lunch during the wait and i didn’t had dinner because i slept after taking the sleeping pills. DAMN HUNGRY .

I didn’t manage to take picture of my eyes right after surgery because i can’t see clearly. I was tearing damnn badly.

This was taken 10 hours after surgery with the eye shield which i need to wear to sleep to prevent rubbing my eyes.

 I have to go for 2nd review next day to check on the cornea flap.

 Wore cap and sunglasses to shield from the sun and glaring lights.

My doctor is DR JON GOH from Lasik Surgery Clinic.

I was told my cornea was very thick so I’m suitable for the surgery and i had heathy eyes ! YEAH ! Finally i halmost have 6/6 eyesight. I can see w/o specs now. It will take a while before ii have 6/6 perfect eyesight. Right now i still see halos and glares and my night vision was kinda blur. Dr Goh told me that it will take 2-3 months before i can see perfectly. Im experiencing dryness on both eyes now and it will be better after a week or two. It just felt like as if you wore contact lenses overnight ..that kinda of feeling.

YAY !

I was really scared and finally i got my lasik done. Thanks to Mr G’s encouragement. Telling me things like ” Trust the doctors here and lasik helps you achieve perfect eyesight and convenience. There bound to be complications among some people but I’m sure you will be fine and i will pray for you. ” . So i went ahead with it. At least he didn’t tell me things like ” Up to you , its your choice and your eyes, anything happen , don’t regret “.

Finally i get my lasik done after contemplating for 4 years !

I cannot wear make up for few days. So i went out with bare face.

The picture below was taken few days ago before the surgery without make up before bed time. Eyes still in shape.

Now it is out of shape and the swell is pulling my lower eyelid down.

bloodshot on right eye from the suction ring. the bruise will go off within a week.Be prepared to look a little ugly for few days but it is all worth it . A good investment indeed. I calculated the amount of $$ i need to spend on contact lenses. This lasik treatment is def worth it. I spent $3900 after GST at Lasik Surgery Clinic ( Custom Wavefront Intralase Lasik ). Custom made for individual eyes and conditions. Paid using DBS/POSB debit/credit card to enjoy $300 off !

You know…i am thinking whether to get double eyelids done. Something I’ve been thinking through for the past 2 years. G told me to go South Korea to get it done. He knows which doctors are good and safe and cheaper than SG. But I’m just afraid if anything happens , it;s hard to go after the doctor or clinic. Still thinking whether to get double eyelids done cos i love my single eyelids.

My eyes are strained now…gotta rest…good night.

Off to Paragon for Pre Lasik Evaluation and Surgery
