I have issues with my weight for the past few years.

I used to be stick thin and weighing only 42-43kg due to stress and the maximum i went was 45kg. After i met my Oppa , i gained and ballooned to 51kg. He eats alot and i follow suit whenever we go out. Probably because he is very tall and guys usually eat alot. Because of the weight gain , my arms, legs, body and face looks “fleshier”. Because i have been thin for the past quarter of my life. I am not used to having chubby face and i missed the defined jawlines and “no double chin” face. I used to look more “3D” and features were sharped but the weight gain made my face looks abit rounder.  You can see in Agneselle’s photoshoot , you can spot a little double chin in some angles and pictures.

So i decided to go for Korean Thread Lifting at Aeon Medical and Aesthetics Clinic.

The threads are inserted under your skin (into the dermis) to stimulate collagen growth , causing the skin to “tighten” and lift in order to reduce double chin and give more definition along the jawline.

If you have done sutured eyelid surgery before , it is about the same. A dissolvable thread (PDO) was used for this treatment to lift the jawline and double chin. So the threads will dissolve over time . This effect will last about 1 year.

This thread lift treatment is suitable for people with mild double chins (not effective for severe cases) and people who want a more defined and lifted jawline. We all know that jawline reduction surgery is risky and painful , this is another alternative treatment to go for if you do not want to take the risk and extreme pain. But of course the effect will not be so dramatic and is only temporary.

I cleanse off my make up in the powder room (Except my eye make up ). Numbing cream was applied over my jaw and chin.

For better absorption , a wrap was wrapped around the area. While waiting for the numbing cream to take effect for about 45 minutes , i enjoyed Korean snacks and tea in the VIP room and looking over at Scotts road.

After 45 minutes , Esther cleansed the numbing cream off my face and i am ready to go to the laser room.

Before the treatment , Dr Kim will mark the areas where the threads will be inserted on my chin and jawline for more precision.

To avoid infection , my chin and jawline was disinfected. Some clinics used only alcohol swaps to clean the area but that was not enough. Chlorhexidine and Betadine was used to disinfect the area at Aeon Medical and Aesthetics clinic instead.

These are the needles with threads that will be inserted under my chin area.

They were all Korean threads and made in Korea. 

Here is an example how the threads will be placed and inserted into my skin to lift and tighten the double chin fats and for a defined jawline via lifting.

Here we go ! The treatment started and i will say the pain level is about 3/10.

Because of the numbing cream , i can’t feel the needle poking into certain parts. Except those near the jawlines. Dr Kim inserted 24 needle threads under my chin and jawline.

Dr Kim is inserting the thread under my skin (above picture) and removing needle leaving the thread in my skin (below picture).

The process took about 30 minutes at discomfort level of 3/10. But Dr Kim is really patient and kind. He is always asking and checking on me to make sure i am ok to continue.

After 30 minutes , all are done and below is the picture taken right after the thread lifting.

The redness subsides when i got home and just look pinkish (My skin is a bit sensitive so usually not so much redness after the procedure I am told). There was no swelling. I went home after the treatment. You can shower and wash your face after this treatment as usual. So it does not affect daily lifestyle at all.

I didn’t have any pain afterwards, only a little bit of tightness which Dr Kim says is normal for a few days. The redness subsided after 1 day.

It will take about a month after to see the effect and i shall post a picture after a month.
