Hehe here’s a new drama that i am addicted to currently.

Rain is soooooooo hot (GOSH! Fangirl blushing here).

The drama plot is very well done and very funny.
You should start watching this because this is a new Korean drama hit. Now on its 5th episode 🙂

Please-Come-Back-Mister-05

Yay…i can’t wait for my trip to Korea in end April. There are quite a number of people asking where and how i get it arranged. Well , i think it is better for me to blog about my experiences and the process after i have done the shoot. So i can share my experiences and thing to take note of for those who are shooting their wedd photos in Korea.

Oppa is going back in March first and i have so many skin care to stock up. Haha i think he will “faint” if he saw my stock up list. I am switching some products to Sulwhasoo. Not that Hera is not good. But im starting on anti-aging products and i will prefer Sulwhasoo.

I realized i haven’t been blogging here much. Lately , i was busy running around SG to meet my clients and prospects.

Receiving this kind of messages made my day. This is from one of my youngest clients. And all my clients will message me “Thank you for your help” .

Msg

Some of my friends always teased me saying that i am “motherly” or “housewife-ish” cos i cook , clean the house etc. But i guess this motherly nature of mine was well appreciated by my clients and prospects.

Im glad to be in this line. Something i like to do because i love meeting people and getting to know more people. And also i learn to be more appreciate and cherish the people around me and i should help more people. Throughout my course in this line , i have met different families , situations and people. That is also something i want to blog about. Because i just went to the hospital last week to visit someone young ( Age 15 ) who was on life support before she passed on. I will blog about this separately and it will be part of the “Smart Lady” posts where i will talk about financial planning.

Good news !
Hoodadak is opening soon on Monday 14th March at Galaxis @ One North. It is just above One North MRT.

Menu includes Korean dishes , chicken and beer. The chef and bosses are Korean. And the chef was working previously at Chicken Up and other restaurants in Korea. Come here for Korean food with some in Korean homemade sauces.

Here are 2 dishes i had for food tasting.

2 dishes which you have to try are the fried chicken in different Korean sauces and also the Andong JjimDdak .

Andong is a town in Korea and they are famous for Jjimddak (Chicken stew). There is the spicy and non-spicy version. But here in Hoodadak they are serving the spicy version.

Come support the Oppas in their new opening. This is a place where i will “park” myself to do work and also help out abit after my work or when im free. The Oppas are always looking for home cooked taste Korean food in SG and now they will all come to Hoodadak. Come come and you may see there often especially during dinner time. Say hi if we see each other there !

Paiseh , my blog abit boring these days. Quite busy with work , wedding preparation and taking care of my health.

Alot of things to research and look for my wedding prep because once i arrive in Korea in April , i will do my wedding shoots , hair dye and perms etc etc all together lol. Some readers have emailed me to ask how and where and what i do for my wedding prep. But because i have not seen the real thing in Korea yet , i can’t review or advice much yet. Wait till end of April okay ? haha my bro is coming to Korea with me too. I helped him to arrange his pre wedding shoots there.

Oh there is a cheongsam tailor shop i want to recommend. If you are keen in making your own cheongsam for your wedding. Im going for fitting next tuesday. Will take a picture and blog here !

Look out for the following posts in March

Smart Lady post on financial planning and health planning (for ladies!)

Shopping in Korean sites

Wedding preparation in Korea

Cheongsam making in SG

Korean food and recipe

Korean make up and skin care ( new ones which i bought ! )

Cheongsam – checked. I custom made at one tailor shop in town which will be ready by April 🙂
I did a red one and will try to take a picture here. The tailor is very friendly and her works are good. Can recommend over here.

Hanbok – appointment made and will be done in april in Busan.

I just managed to search for some wedding videos. They are so nicely done in Korea.

Here’s a video of the hotel we are going to . Usually the brides will sit on the chair and everyone will come and take photo with her. The old uncle on the stage is the Justice of Peace reading the vows.

And here’s one that does for international customers in Seoul which i think will be abit expensive because it targets foreigners. I don’t know why but the pricing and packages for most studios (targeted foreigners) are more expensive than for locals. Some charged in Korean won but some charge in USD because some wants you to transfer deposit over first. The package price my friend asked and the one i asked are different pricing.

I quite like the video done by this studio in Seoul. If you are interested and have the budget can check it out.

Flying to Busan in late April with my brother and his fiancee. We will be shooting at 2 different studios and these studios are facing a nice cliff and sea. So we can get great outdoor shoots too. Weather will be just nice. Not too cold and not too hot.

Hehe..im also getting new skin care products. I didn’t really review alot of products for the past few months because i haven’t been getting new ones yet. Im trying to start using anti-aging products already. Will do a review in April after Oppa bring them back from his March trip to Busan. I will getting new Sulwhasoo serum and also serums from Hera’s Signoria range.

Many people emailed me and asked me for places to stay in Seoul and Busan.

For Seoul , i will recommend these places because it is in the shopping district at Myeongdong and also walking distance to the MRT. Super convenient.

a) Ibis Hotel

b) Namsan Guest House

c) Prince Hotel

They are right smack at the shopping area and just separated by a traffic light or underpass. I only stay at these hotels or guest house lah.

For Busan , i will recommend Lotte Hotel located conveniently in the shopping district at Seomyeon ( if you have the spare $$ ) or Toyoko-inn Hotel at Seomyeon. These 2 hotels are located conveniently in the shopping district. Toyoko-Inn is right beside our apartment lol. And opposite our apartment is a shopping mall and the Seomyeon shopping street.

If not , you can just check into any motels. Cheap and good. About $80 per night for a room for 2. You may think that motels are sleazy places but not all are like that. As long as you don’t go to the ones in the red light district. Because some motels are stop over motels for locals who are traveling from city to city especially during festive seasons. My mil’s motel is a stop over motel for locals who are going to Gimhae airport to catch a morning or late night flight and tourists who arrived late at night and need a place to sleep before they take a morning flight or KTX to the next city or to the airport. Her motel is located beside the mrt and 15 mins from airport.

As long as you dont go to one near the red light can liao. Their motels are quite nicely decorated with themes , own jacuzzi in the room and also 2 high speed internet computers. Even my Korean teacher also recommended that because sometimes she also travel to other city to visit relatives and she just book into a motel.

Hope these information helps for those who asked about places to stay in Busan and Seoul !

Busan : My Wedding in Korea

Date fixed. October.

Hotel booked.

What caught my attention was the guest reception area lol. I like this kind of interiors. I heard from oppa’s friends and family that the hotel food was quite famous. I went there for Korean semi-fine dining food before and it was really good.

And this is the hall. I wasn’t there to do recce the place so i grabbed these pictures from Naver.com

Wedding photoshoot also booked. I helped my brother to book at the same studio too. He was surprised by the package price. You can save up to 60% if you arranged on your own. The photostudio package includes 3 wedding gowns , 3 suits , albums , make-up artist , framed photographs , soft copies of photos etc.

I decided to go for this studio because of their dresses, photography and studio style. But we are also considering another studio.

A mugc-5

I am also thinking of having a photoshoot in SG. Not a full scale one but probably 2-3 hours.

I have shortlisted these local photographers. I knew some of them and i like to work with sincere and down to earth photographers.

Framewerks Photography  http://www.framewerks.sg/ . I met the owners before and they are very down-to-earth and happy couple. I like working with sincere people. I like their works because it feels very personable.

Clarence Aw http://www.clarenceaw.com/documentation – A friend of mine who lensed some of Agneselle’s photos and his works are very unique. Looks like postcards and has the tumblr feel which i really like. His clients even pay him to travel overseas to shoot their wedding dinner/ceremony.

Bobby Kiran http://bobbykiranyeo.com/#  – I have not met the photographer but have talked to him abit. His work is unique and it looks elegant.

I sort of decided who to go for the SG photoshoot and im just waiting for my hanbok and perhaps my cheongsam to be done.

Im not sure how many international marriage readers i have here but i think most will agree with me.

Marriage preparation is more tiring and stressful. Eg in my case , the main wedding is in Korea and both of us are working here in SG. So there are alot that cannot be done and can only be done if we flew back. We can’t take too many leave and when we are there , we have to make sure we get everything done before we fly back. Cost is also a problem  – Air tickets.
Fortunately , Korea isn’t far and Vietnam air has pretty decent and affordable plane tickets to Busan.

There is still so much for me to prepare on my side. I have to understand and learn the Korean wedding culture. They are very different from our local wedding culture. Even the rituals are different. Fortunately i have a supportive fiance who helps me to do most of the planning and his mother to book the venue for us. So this coming trip in April to Korea is pretty important and packed. Photo shoot and also preparing all the necessary in April and the next flight to Korea in Oct is the real deal Damn fast lah.

I haven’t even got time to think about our ROM in SG.

Time flies and it is almost the end of Feb already. The last year i will spend CNY as a single and next year have to give ang bao liao. But next year , we will probably spend it in Korea. My life is so much happier now and so much more relaxed.

I find myself enjoying my overseas trip more. I spend more time relaxing and enjoying the sightseeing and food instead of taking alot of time to take an OOTD picture. That is why my instagram isn’t that active. I enjoyed my work because i met more people and i learnt more new things. Also i learnt to leave things for people to hand and settle on their own ( Agneselle.com ). I used to be a “worry-er” . That was what some of my ex bosses and friends called me because i worry too much. Even when i was overseas , i will call back to SG and check and nag hahaha.

And i also enjoy my work. I met more people from different walks of life.

Who says that you will lose more friends if you go into this line ? I made more friends. instead.

From strangers we met on the street to becoming my client and now a friend.

This is my first CNY kai-gong ang bao from my first cold client who is a CEO of a company. A CNY angbao for good luck when i went to his office.

Angbao

Tomorrow is the last day of lunar new year . Hope all of you have a good and healthy year ahead !
Btw i replied to almost 50% of the emails regarding the online shop where i bought my winter wears. I still have alot to go but i think i may do a blog post on shopping on Korean sites soon.

Take care and enjoy your weekend !

Happy CNY and wish all of you a healthy and prosperous year ahead !

Time flies and now it is mid Feb. The wedding is just 8 months away. So much to be done and so much undone. The actual preparation will commence in April .

Some places we are looking at recently. Oppa’s mother is already recce-ing some places. The family group chat now is now about the wedding , price list and i think it was kinda finalized.
An Italian place in Gwangalli with a cosy italian style ambience and good italian food.

Mr Shin is going back to Korea in March to do the reservations and in April i will be heading there for photoshoots and to tailor my Hanbok.

Here’s some reviews of the new make up products i bought from Taiwan. Most are Taiwanese or Japanese brand. I used Japanese make up products before i switched to Korean brands about 5 years ago. Shiseido , Kose and Hada Labo are some of the brands i used to use many many years ago. Reason for the switch to Korean brands was because i find Japanese products quite drying probably due to alcohol content. Also it is hard to find full range in SG. You can find the cleansers and toners of certain brands/range and then it stops there. No essences , emulsions , serums or moisturizers. Japanese make up and beauty products are also more expensive esp drugstore brands. Korean products are cheaper , natural and more moisturizing for my skin. There are good and nice Japanese beauty products around but just that they don’t suit my skin type.

I enjoy shopping at Watsons when i was in Taipei. Alot of make up and skin care to try.

Here’s a Taiwanese brand – HEME .
This eye shadow palette is really cheap. NT199 before 15% discount which is about SGD 7.50 .

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Packaging says will use until there is a curve on the palette..don’t know true or not lol. But good marketing.
I only used once and i kinda like it because it is light and natural.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After taking it out from the box.

The cover reminds of Kate Spade’s bags with black and white dots.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is another Taiwanese brand – Solone

If i remember correctly , this blusher was only NT99 which is approx SGD 5 so i bought 2 colours – 1 light pink and 1 rose pink.  You can find this brand in Sasa Wisma Atria.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

To be honest when i saw the box packaging , i expected a nicer casing but abit disappointed when i opened it and it was a plastic tupperware like casing. At first i thought i bought a refill pack. Then i went down to check and it was not. But for $5 …can’t ask for too much also. But i was surprised by the pigments because it was quite strong and durable. The colour stays on well on my bb / cc cream. This is worth the buy despite the cheapo casing.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s a lipbalm/tint from Heme. I remembering going down to shop at 2am in Watsons lol.

Price was NT199 which is approx SGD 7.50 with 15% discount. It comes in 4 colours – Nude , Peach , Red and Fuschia. I bought the red one. I won’t say that it is really a tint because the colour is not very obvious. I used it as a lip balm because it is moisturizing. Though i bought red and expected the colour to be abit obvious on my lips but it was not as compared to trying it on the back of my palm. So i use this and on top of it i added another coat of my lipstick.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

But it does have good moisturizing effect.

This lip tint looks like a jelly with a red star shaped tint in the middle that gives you the mild colour and the clear part is like a balm.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I will say these are quite affordable and worth the buy. You can give it a try. I see that certain Taiwanese brands are available at Sasa but of cos buying it in Taipei is cheaper. You can find them in Watsons in Taiwan.

It is CNY and i really ate alot these days. So i had Ultrashape treatment done at Aeon Medical and Aesthetics Clinic.

Time to destroy the fats !

Ultrashape V3 can destroy fat in stubborn trouble areas like the lower tummy, love handles and thighs. It is the only Ultrashape V3 in Singapore at the newly expanded wing of AEON Medical and Aesthetic Centre located at Pacific Plaza along Scotts Road (opposite Grand Hyatt Hotel ).

This is my 2nd treatment and you can read my first post HERE.

“Showing off” my cute lump of fats. A strap was used to gather all the fats around my waist and tummy area to the centre.  Looks like muffin lor.

The aesthetician go through a round of radio frequency to tone up the tummy.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Markings were made digitally for accuracy in targeting the fatty areas.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s Dr Kim starting the Ultrashape ultrasound on my “muffin-like belly fats”.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This treatment is non-invasive , no pain , no down time and no bruising. It actually destroyed the fats by breaking down the fats. Also i have to drink alot of water because the fats will be “washed out” also.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There are 2 types of treatment – Legacy ( toning and tightening ) and Ultrashape ( fats destroying ) . Don’t be confused when you call to enquire and make an appointment. There is first trial promotion and you can call to enquire. Good time to burn the fats off your tummy after CNY.

And for those who asked , i had my lashes done at Lushlashh which is located conveniently at The Arcade @ Raffles Place (Tel:85685268 ). You can check their FB page HERE to know more and mention my name when you make an appointment. This time , i done something abit different. I cant remember the type of curls or length i did. But i showed the technician a picture and she followed what i wanted. You can ask her the types of lashes i did because she has my records 🙂

Hehe…side track abit..i like the ear muffs i wore to Taiwan. Finally i can wear it after i bought it 2 years ago from Korea. I like the burgundy + black mix tone.

2nd last day in Taipei.

I hope time flew past slowly though. Taiwan reminds me of Korea. The shopping..the food…the street…but Taiwanese are much friendlier to be honest.

On wed , we went shopping at Sogo and Zhongxiao street. The best place for shopping so far.

I got Ryunjae oppa a bag from PORTER as birthday present from Sogo. Porter bags are cheaper in Taiwan , HK and Japan. It is quite expensive in SG. I did quite abit of shopping here at Zhongxia0. Got mostly sunglasses, earrings and couple of pull overs. It was winter so there are alot of knits and thick winter wears which are not suitable for SG weather. I was thinking of getting some for my Korea trip but it is much cheaper in Korea. Quality also better in Korea.

DSC03041

Long queue at this shop selling the red bean pancakes. I asked one of the locals what was nice here while i was in the queue and she said she came because she heard that the servers were cute. Hmmm..i tried the red bean cake..it was not bad and alot of red bean filling but nothing special. lol.so i now know why long queue lah.

DSC03043

After doing some solo shopping for 4 hours along the whole of Zhong Xiao , we went for dinner at one of our Agency Leader’s friend’s bar and restaurant for dinner. Nice ambience. Owner is Singaporean who married a Taiwanese lady.

DSC03045 DSC03046 DSC03050 DSC03066

After which , we went to Myst and Omni for drinks. First time kanna police raid . Suddenly the lights went on and police checking our passports etc. Nothing much..suddenly the lights were on at 1am++ and police came taking down the passport/id details of those with tables first. Ours was the first. We took pictures of our passports and saved in our hp so that we do not need to bring the original out. The police just took our phones with our passport pics and took down details before moving on to the next table and those at the bars or standing around. The whole raid took about 30 minutes. Thought i only saw this in HK dramas but didn’t expect to encounter first hand. Don’t know if their purpose was to catch those underage , mafias or drug dealers ??

Took this snap shot secretly while he was taking down our info at our table.

20160128_004835

Reached back the hotel at 4am and woke up at 8am for breakfast and packed our luggage. Went to Ah Zhong Mian Xian for lunch/breakfast.

DSC03072 DSC03073

After checking out , we had 5 hours before the driver came to drive us to airport.
So i spent the last 5 hours shopping and eating again in Ximending.

There is a 24 hours 2 storey watsons just opposite our hotel. So it is pretty convenient.
This is one thing i want to blog about. You should shop at Watsons ! I don’t know why almost every country i go to , i will go and shop at their Watsons. Even when i got to JB , i will sweep alot of stuff at Watsons. They are much cheaper than SG. When i am in Korea, i will shop at Olive and Young which is their local version of Watsons.

In Taiwan’s Watsons, you can find alot of make up brands or toiletries at really cheap price. You can’t find some brands in SG as well. So the Watsons operates 24hours and sometimes i will go down at 2am to buy some stuff because i can’t sleep. I stocked up on my Biore make up removers and tried some Taiwanese and Japanese make up. I will review on my make up and skin care buys later.

You can shop at Cosmeds or Watsons but i prefer Watsons which has more variety.

Fortunately , our hotel is right smacked in the middle of Ximending.

Chanced upon this cafe with a cute and chubby goldie.

DSC03074

I find that he is quite poor thing leh..he looks bored..because i walked past this cafe alot of times and all he did was sit there.

DSC03075 DSC03076 DSC03080 DSC03082 DSC03086 DSC03087

Walked in this those lanes and you can find nail salons and other fashion shops. The ones along the main streets are too touristy and sell almost the same stuff like souvenirs etc but the small lanes has alot of gems. You can find nice clothing shops selling clothes at cheaper price and are very nice too.

DSC03085

Ready to leave Taipei.

So sad…i miss travelling and i will miss Taipei. I will be back here again. So many places i want to bring oppa here next time.

DSC03094

I really enjoyed my trip to Taiwan. My 3rd trip with friends/colleagues so far. It was a great team bonding trip with my teammates. Everyone was having so much fun. Everyday , we see the professional side of our colleagues at work. But the first time we had so much fun and let out the fun side of us. Looking forward to next team bonding trip in 2017 !

Bought quite a number of make up and beauty products from Watsons in Taipei.

Shall blog about it next ! Stay tune !

Just before our driver drove us to Taipei , we stopped by Green Green Grassland ( Qing Qing Cao Yuan ).

It was really cold and windy. And we get to see alot of sheeps ( cute little meh mehs) .

DSC02894 DSC02897 DSC02899

On the way to Taipei , we stopped by rest stations for some hot food. Weather was cold and it was raining. We need to warm up with some hot soup.

DSC02904

After 4 hours drive from Cing Jing , we arrived at Taipei. Our hotel was situated right smack in the middle of Ximending. So shopping was really easy.

DSC02908

First meal of the day in Taipei was steamboat buffet. 500NT per pax and alot of selections ! It was 3 minutes walk from our hotel.

DSC02909

This was what attracted us to come here for the steamboat buffet..the ice cream selections.
Steamboat ingredient selection was alot but hmmm soup base so so ..so none of us really drink the soup.

DSC02910    DSC02912

Sunset quite early at 6pm during winter.

Here’s Ximending.

DSC02914

We took a train to Wufen-pu for shopping. It is a wholesale centre and i bought quite abit of clothes for work. Quite hard to find nice clothings there though mostly are cheap.

After which , we walked to nearby Raohe night market for more street food.

DSC02917  DSC02919

DSC02958

You can shop and eat at the same time. Things here are pretty cheap.

DSC02962 DSC02960

We drink milk tea almost EVERYDAY. You can order hot or cold milk tea.

I cant remember whether i drink more than 2 bottles of plain water during my trip.

DSC02954 DSC02948 DSC03032

DSC02928 DSC02923 DSC02948 DSC02951

DSC02932

Really just eat and eat and eat and eat as we walked down the street and night market.

Reached hotel back at about 1.30am and we woke up early at 8am to have breakfast at a rather famous you tiao shop. The queue was damn long. Queued from the 1st floor to the shop at the upper floor. The egg prata like thing was very nice !

阜杭豆漿: Fu Hang Dou Jiang which is on the 2nd floor of Hua Shan Market. We took the MRT to Shan Dao Station from Taipei Main Station.

DSC02965

Look at the queue. Cant even see the ordering counter nor end of the queue which was few floors down.

DSC02968

Then we took a train and bus to Jiufen and Shifen.

Here is Jiufen.

DSC02971 DSC02975 DSC02976 DSC02977 DSC02979

The quite famous and popular Ah Ma Rice Balls at Jiufen.

DSC02981

We realized alot of nice food are always named Ah Ma XXX .

Just like the Ah Ma Tea Leaves Egg we ate at the moutains on one of the islands.

DSC02982

Actually the train station at Jiufen reminds me of Jinhae in Gyeongsan-Do Korea which is a famous place for cherry blossoms. So if you are going to Korea in Spring , remember to go to Jinhae to view the beautiful cherry blossoms. I blogged about it before and you can check my March/Apr/May post on that. I can’t remember when i blogged it because i went in late March 2015.

That’s the place we “fang tian deng” . Me and a colleagues shared one and i wrote all my wishes in a mixture of Korean , Chinese and English. Lol..Korean for my new Korean family , Chinese and English for my family and work in SG etc.

DSC03007

After which , we took the train back to Shilin night market and it was time for dinner.

DSC03014

Ah Zhong Mian Xian at Shilin. The chilli is da bomb ! But the vinegar so so only. I must put like 6 spoonful of vinegar. The chilli is really “powerful” so just put abit first and taste before you add more.

DSC03037 DSC02937 DSC02940 DSC03030 DSC02935 DSC03027

Long queue at Cheese Prince. It is located at the street food near the entrance of Shilin. Damn nice.

Very cheap too about SGD 3 bucks for this. No wonder long queue lah. Really long queue.

Alot of shopping and eating here.Hmm..don’t expect to find alot of fashionable shops here because most of the stuff sold here are pretty cheap. If you are looking for cheap gadgets like hp covers , phone external camera lens, stockings , cheap or replicas , night markets seems to be a good place to go to. I got quite afew cheap stuff here and of cos i stuffed myself with alot of good and cheap street food.

** To be continued.

I miss the cold weather in Taiwan ! My skin , hair and everything looks  better because of the weather lol. Except that my eyes looked more tired as the day goes by because i slept for 3-4 hours everyday in Taiwan. Slept at 3am and woke up at 7 or 8am to go to Ah Zhong Mian Xian to have breakfast.

Just 2 days before my trip , i had Triple Glow treatment done at Aeon Aesthetics and Medical Clinic. I do rave about treatments or products that i reviewed here ( not sponsored ones ) but this one is soooo good. I personally like it alot. Sometimes , i can feel slight bumps on my nose when i cleanse my face. They are either white or black heads. But this time , my nose and face is very smooth even 2 weeks after the treatment. I really like it ! The thing about Korean aesthetics is that they are always coming up with new treatments. Sometimes i have to stock up on the products i used before they were discontinued since they always upgrade their products or come up with better ones.

The Triple Glow treatment consist of 1) Clarity Laser Toning (pigment laser)  2) Diamond Lifting (collagen RF) and 3) Omega Glow (LED Rejuvenation). There is a CNY Special going on for trial at $100 (T&Cs apply). Go try this if you are interested or need to rejuvenate your skin.

image

You can quote my name to enjoy special rates when booking your appointment (Tel 6733 2002). Clinic is closed on CNY Day 1 and Day 2. They resume on Day 3. Clinic is located at Pacific Plaza @ Scotts Road ( Level 6 ) which is just opposite Grand Hyatt Hotel.
