One of the reason why i MIA-ed for 2 weeks.

I was down with a really bad eye infection.

Pus was oozing out from my eyes and it somehow dried up and “encrusted” around my eyes. I thought i was tearing because of the inner lid infection but i was shock that i was unable to open my eyes and totally disgusted by this sight when i looked into the mirror. This picture already not bad liao. It was worst. So for a couple of days , my eyes was totally shut. I thought i was going blind okay !

1453277914560

Got a cheap cheap specs to wear and cover the swollen eyes. This was a few days after taking antibiotics.

B1453277944613

Took 10 days to heal completely before i was down with a bad cold again. And if you are wondering who is handling Agneselle now ? Well , i have people taking care and running it for me now. You can enjoy 20% off NEW ARRIVALS now ! (enter code CNY20 to enjoy 20% off NEW ARRIVALS and SALE50 to enjoy 50% off SALE) . New items just added under SALES page few days ago too !

Body immune system was kinda low for 2 weeks.  I just want a healthy 2016 !

I just saw alot of emails in peonykissblog@gmail.com inbox and i will reply them before end of the week. Saw alot of queries on the jackets i bought and also places to go in Korea. I will answer them properly so it may take a while to reply.

The wedding day is kinda fixed on 8th October in Busan. 08.10.16.

So this coming spring , im going there for my wedding shoot and make my hanbok. I am also arranging for my brother to take his wedding pictures there. Im now becoming a Korea photoshoot wedding planner soon lol. Planning and arranging for photoshoots and proposals for alot of my friends or family member now. It is cheaper than going through bridal studios in SG. You save at least 50% lol but firstly you need to know the language and it is easier to communicate this way. Studios that target foreigners only tend to be a little more expensive. It is better if you have a local to arrange for you instead.

We were thinking of hanbok wedding dress which is more unique. East west fushion with embroidery details. Shall go see see look look this coming trip.

My new family in Korea. Jinjae oppa printed the pictures and put it at home.

My fiance , his brother and his mother.

I have more good news and K-beauty to share next post !

CNY is coming and i had my new hair colour done with Joanne. She is really attentive and attend to me from the start till the end even washing my hair. I wanted something abit reddish + violet + dark brown that doesn’t fade to orangey or yellowish tone due to the nature of my work ( i have to look presentable ) . Also something a little bit violet. So she mixed these 2 colours for me and i really love it !!! All my colleagues and friends said the colour is very nice and even asked what colour is it.  The salon is located at Chevron house so it is convenient for those who work at Raffles place. And also if you have any company events or important client meetings you can find her to set your hair. She starts early morning because some bankers find her to wash , below and set their hair before work ( really salute to them..can wake up so early to have their done ). You can contact Joanne at 9839 1084 and mention my name to enjoy discounts.

Actually i bought quite abit of winter/spring coats , knits and beanies from the korean site for my taiwan trip. Im going to Cingjing and didn’t expect it to be -3 degrees celsius. Luckily , i bought fleece and fur lined leggings. Why i like to buy from Korean site is because 1) Affordable 2) Keep my warm 3) Light weight 4) Chic designs that never run out of style. The trick to buying from Korean site is never look at how good is it on the model. What looks good on model doesn’t mean it will look good on you. Their models look like dolls ( whether is it natural or plastic surgery i dont know ). Same goes to online shopping in SG. Usually i will take hours to shop because i really think and imagine how it will look like on me and how can i pair it with what i have.I also buy neutral or pastel colours because it is easier to match.

Remember the Espoir primer i blogged about 2 months ago ? I really love it. Very moisturizing and good for my Taiwan trip because it is winter there now. If you are looking for a primer that moisturizes your skin and gives you that glow , this is the right one ! I prefer this to the Hera one because this one contains essences and more moisturizing for me .

Before i end this post , i wanna talk about animal cruelty and abuse.

It is very saddening to know how some people can be SO EVIL HEARTED !

https://www.facebook.com/Hopedogrescuesg/posts/1205772872784217

I hope karma get to this person who did this horrible and inhumane thing to this dog.

Who can be so evil to trick it to the forest area and tie it to the tree. The dog was fighting for its life by barking and whining to get help and attention. I emailed to enquire on how can i chip in to its medical fees and before i could even contribute , the dog has passed away.

I really don’t understand how can someone be so evil to do that to the dog. May this little baby rest in peace.

Really angry to read this.

If the person who did that is reading this post..KARMA will come to you !

Busan : My Family in Korea

Continue with my Busan trip Day 11 ( i think ? ) lol

It was the day after Chu Seok. Omoni has to rush back to her motel because there are 50 indonesian tourists checking in that day. So Oppa and i continued the night meeting his Uni mates.

It was my first time drinking peach soju. Very nice and better than the original one because it is a little fruity. Girls will like it better. There are grapes , peach and apple flavours. KRW1,200 per bottle. Cheaper than your bottle of coke.

DSC02318

DSC02319

Korean chicken. Beer + Chicken.

This was the 2nd round. We had the first round and after that we moved to the 2nd round and then 3rd round. Never ending. I felt tired after the 2nd round already because in SG , we dont have the habit of going places for drinks and food. It can start at 7pm and ends at 3am in the morning or sometimes 4 am ( eat , drink and talk and it just keeps going on for hours ) . I was quite amazed by this culture at first but after 2 years , im used to it already.

 DSC02323

The day after Chu Seok , Omoni , oppa and i had lunch with his paternal uncle at their hometown in Busan which is Haeundae . His mother started to introduce me to their relatives and im supposed to visit his grandmother too.

We had traditional Korean course lunch at a fine dining restaurant.

A traditional course that were used to be served to royalties.

The food just kept coming and coming.

I think we had over 18 dishes. They came in small portions.

Name of restaurant is Ye Yi Je . It means past and present.

DSC02329 DSC02330 DSC02331 DSC02332 DSC02334 DSC02335 DSC02336 DSC02337 DSC02338

We had our lunch near Hotel Paradise.

DSC02347

After which we went to Dalmaji-gil (달맞이길) in Haeundae.

It is like the Montmarte in Paris. Alot of hipster cafes serving nice and affordable food.

You will get to see alot of wedding photoshoot studios there too. Some of which we were eyeing at. This is a good place to go to during autumn and spring. Because you can sit at the alfresco or indoor cafes and admire the maple leaves during autumn or cherry blossoms during spring. The trees along the street and road will look beautiful and colourful during these 2 seasons.

Oppa’s friend opened a shabu shabu restaurant so we decided to pop-by.

DSC02352 DSC02354 DSC02355

His restaurant. We went there abit early so it was empty. But crowd starts streaming in during dinner time.

DSC02357

Self-service dessert bar where you can help yourselves with free flow of coffees , popcorns , sweets , teas , biscuits , cookies etc etc. It is complimentary for all customers.

DSC02359

Our Shabu Shabu beef set which comes with self-service Vietnamese spring roll wrap ( at only KRW 17,000 per pax )

DSC02361 DSC02364 DSC02365

You are supposed to pour the rice into the soup at the last part and stir it so that it will become porridge. It is sooo yummmy ok ! That bowl of yellow stuff was beaten egg which you are supposed to add into the porridge to make it sweet. I can have many bowls of these !

DSC02366 DSC02368

The plastic looking thing is the clear vietnamese rice roll wrap. Texture was like plastic when it was hard.

Just soak into this red solution which i guess is red vinegar . Then the harden wrap will become soft and you can start doing your own vietnamese spring roll wrap with all the veges.

DSC02369

After that , we decided to chill out at a cafe for desserts and some catch up. One of his friend was a Korean air stewardess so i managed to exchanges some travelling tips and places to go in Europe with her.

DSC02371

Dalmaji-gil. You can see some Japanese islands from Dalmaji-gil by sitting at the top floor of the cafes. Imagine these rows of green trees turns red and yellow during autumn or filled with cherry blossoms during spring.

DSC02375

Me , oppa and his friends whom i called Onni because they are older than me.

DSC02384 DSC02385

On the day before we left for SG , his mother brought us to a famous live eel bbq restaurant at the outskirts of Busan. You can see alot of restaurants there serving live eel bbq. Yes , the eels were sliced and cut live before BBQ so you can see the muscles still twitching when they serve the plate below onto the table. I posted a video on my instagram.

DSC02389 DSC02392

To be honest , it tasted better than frozen eels. The meat is very tender , fresh and qq.

DSC02398

If you are traveling to Seoul and Busan , you should travel to the outskirts of Seoul and Busan too. Because you can find many nice , good and cheap food . Not only that , you can enjoy and embrace nature and the fresh air.

Nice and cooling weather at 20 degrees celsius. Eat and eat and eat until looked so chubby and cui in Korea. Lol.

After our hearty meal , we went for a stroll up a little hill near Omma’s house.

DSC02418 DSC02419 DSC02421

Even Bomi joined us too.

DSC02424

DSC02438

I miss our room 😦

We always stayed at the biggest room in Omma’s motel whenever we are there.

Found this on youtube.

This was the room on the 8th floor which we always sleep in whenever we are at Omma’s motel in Gimhae which is 20 mins drive from Busan. It is 10 mins from Gimhae airport. Gimhae and Busan is just like Incheon and Seoul.

Airport of Seoul is in Incheon and airport of Busan is in Gimhae.

Busan is the 2nd largest city in Korea after Seoul.  Yes in Busan , you can find the world’s largest shopping mall (Centum City / Shinsaegae ). Will intro more about Busan next time.

And here is another big room.

Room rates range from KRW50,000 to KRW 70,000 depending on the no. of pax.

The airport of Seoul is at Incheon and the airport of Busan is at Gimhae.

Most of the time , we stayed at oppa’s brother’s apartment in Seomyeon, Busan.

We go to Gimhae and help his mum out at her motel over the weekend.

DSC02439A

Will talk about about this accommodation next time 🙂 Lotte water park, Lotte premium outlets , Lotte mart , Gimhae airport are just nearby Omma’s motel , that’s why there are foreigners checking in these days 🙂

Hehe finally done documenting my 2nd trip to Busan. Looking forward to the next trip !!

Next up is K-beauty and new posts about financial matters 🙂

Busan Korea

Back to work today and i really miss the autumn weather in Korea.

Imagine clear blue sky accompanied with a nice breeze and the air was very fresh especially at the mountains in the day.

The haze condition in SG is getting worst. It was bad before i left and even after 2 weeks , it got even worse. My nose itches and i kept on coughing whenever im outdoors.

This post is going to be lengthy one with my personal thoughts , 2 good news to share and also continued updates on my Korea trip.

A couple of my friends who have been following my blog and instagram asked me why haven’t i been updating my social media platforms as often and why have i not even started snapchat ?

To be honest , i really enjoyed my trip this time without considering so much about taking pictures just to update on my social media accounts. I don’t want to keep thinking about what pictures or visuals to update on my instagram page or other social media platforms. I don’t want to spend time arranging the food nicely on the table for visual purposes. I just snap a simple pic and enjoy eating the food while it is hot and nice.  I want my blog to stay true where i jot down all my daily life and memories. I can be abit blunt sometimes but they were straight from my heart and mind..

I want to keep the pictures for memories and document my travels , food i ate , places i have been to and share genuine reviews and tips with people. Sometimes , i even flip back my past posts to refer to when i need to and read my old posts with my bf. Because i forgot how to get to that place or what brand , what address or how it looks like after awhile.

Now that i am turning 30 next year , i just want my life to be simple. Enjoy time with my love ones , document and share my travel experiences , beauty and make-up journeys. I enjoying sharing and exchanging tips and feedbacks with readers too. Just simple and sweet.  It is also time for me to settle down.

I know i have some regular and long time readers of my blog who have read about the ups and downs that happened in my life. And i am also glad to have their support. It was really touching to receive their emails with words of encouragement during my down times. During my down times , i was in no mood or in any good condition to reply anyone even though i read their messages because i wish to be alone. But i do felt touched by their words even though i didn’t express it out. And also i made friends with my readers and even customers. Like i said , it is time for me to settle down , so i have 2 good news to share with you especially with people who were there for me and always encouraging me.

First good news is….

Oppa and i are already planning for our wedding in Sept 2016.  We are looking for photo studios to shoot our pre-wedding photos in Seoul or Busan and also to look for wedding venue in Busan. Whereas in SG , we are looking for a venue for the ROM ( + event styling and catering ). The main wedding will be in Busan. Planning to do pre-wedding shoot in Spring 2016. It will be nice because of the cherry blossoms.

I will be tailoring my own hanbok for the wedding on my next Korea trip. I am thinking of pastel tones ( Ivory top with Peach/Pink bottom skirting).

d0da9_131008172427-korean-hanbok-7-vertical-gallery

It will be a Korean + SG wedding. The ROM in SG will be a small affair. We ever thought of holding it on a yacht with a few of our close knit relatives actually because he was a ship navigation 2nd officer, has license to operate a ship vessel and he loves the sea. We were also considering holding it at a nice cafe or somewhere with a touch of nature because i love gardens and flowers and the budget is more affordable.

Here is one of my shortlisted venue in Busan. Something garden-ish.

For 2 years , this man has never made me worried and he really takes good care of me. He supports me in whatever i do and he understands my fear and bad experiences with trust in relationships so he always assures me.  He feels and thinks that it is the responsibility of the man to take care of his woman and his family.

After going through ups and downs in my life and in relationships , i know what i want in a marriage. I only hope for a happy and simple marriage life. Just need someone to be there for me and to be there for me for life and our family. It has been my dream marriage since young which is to have a happy family with my kids and a dog.

I will document down my planning process and hopefully to share and exchange tips with fellow readers who are in SG-KOR relationships or weddings. If you ever held a SG-KOR wedding , please drop me an email at peonykissblog@gmail.com.

Thank you !

Life and work have been exciting and challenging for me these few months. If you were wondering what am I studying for and what industry did I venture into ,

Well, Here comes the 2nd good news !

I am embarking in the Financial Planning career.

I have always been interested in the Finance industry since graduating from SIM with majors in Banking and Finance.

For 3 years, I worked for a Private Bank and I am happy to be back into the finance industry once again. To be back, it is something that I have always wanted to do. And this time, I will be at the front line happy at crossing lives and getting in touch with people at the same time.

So from now instead of just blogging about my make-up and skincare reviews and Korea travels , i will share some of my financial planning work experiences and financial matters too.

If you have any questions or need any suggestions or opinions regarding financial matters , beauty and skincare , you can email at peonykissblog@gmail.com

So what about AE ? I guess this will be what most people will be curious about. It is still running by my family as usual. There were a lot of shifting and moving to a new office for the past 2 months but you can expect a new collection this coming Sunday ( previews are up on facebook page ).

I celebrated Chu Seok ( Korea Thanksgiving Day ) on 27th Sept with Oppa and his family. And that was when i met some of his extended family members. I spent the day in the kitchen helping his mother with the food and to serve the guests. It was a tiring day because the cooking and preparing started as early as 5am. All ended after lunch time and all of us knocked out till evening.

Because Oppa’s dad passed away more than 10 years ago , his relatives will come over to pay respect to his father on Thanksgiving Day. It is the day where Koreans pay respect to their ancestors and family members who passed away. Only the men will be paying respect and the women in the kitchen. Men must be dressed formally in suits , pants and shirts. Managed to snap a pic secretly while preparing to serve lunch.

12065516_10153711107293885_3293163244291252326_n

After the lunch , i helped his mother to clear up before i KOed.

Next day , Jinjae oppa took leave and drove us to a small own near Ulsan for the famous and popular beef BBQ. It is an hour drive from Busan. I just realized that the best food are located at the countryside. Cheap and good.

Supposedly to go to Gyeongju this Sept but Oppa has to renew his driving license because he has not driven for 10 years. So he has to attend a 2 day course and take the driving test again. So we shall bring the Gyeongju trip to next year.

Busan itself is so big. Went there 2 times and stayed there for 1 month in total but i have not been to every corner of Busan or even the outskirts of Busan.

It was a fun car ride chit chatting with each other and Ommoni is happy to have her 2 sons by her side and traveling with her. The BBQ place was so popular that we have to wait for 30 minutes. You can wait at the shelter near the pond.

DSC02174A DSC02175A

Saw GDragon and other celebs wearing the Seoul Olympic 1988 cap before. So when i saw it while shopping at a fashion concept shop , i have to get it ! It is the last piece too. He also wore one in the latest Big Bang US world tours concert held few days ago.

DSC02196

I looked at what caps the celebs wear whenever i watch Running Man , Infinity Challenge , Returns of superman or any other variety shows because their caps are all so nice. The HALYANG cap which Kang Gary from Running Man is often seen in is a hot item too. Can see many places selling it when i was shopping in Busan.

DSC02177A

Look who joined us that day ? The youngest in the family , Bomi !

We have to hide her in the bag when seated in the restaurant. But she managed to sneak out after smelling the BBQ beef.

DSC02181A

While waiting , we went to buy the Hae Bbang ( custard bread ) which is quite a popular snack in this town.

First time trying Samjang soup and it tasted so nice ! I want to learn to cook this !

DSC02250A

After our hearty meal , we drove to this big field which was just 5 minutes away from our lunch place. Popular hangout with the locals. Weather was perfect , grass were green and clean and you can see many families having picnic and chilling out on the field. Ulju is a town in the city of Ulsan located at the easternmost of South Korea.

I don’t know is it the angle or my flat hair…why i looks so bah bah here ?

DSC02278

Back to Busan after our trip to Ulju in Ulsan.

We went to cafe street which is just opposite our house. This cafe street is Busan’s version of Dempsey hill + Holland Village + Haji Lane. Alot of concept cafes here and the prices are affordable and cheap.

DSC02294 DSC02295 DSC02297 DSC02298 DSC02299

You can find many interesting cafes with unique decors and concepts.

DSC02302

Fans of lobster rolls can enjoy lobster rolls at only KRW 15,000 with fries. Wanted to try this but it was full house. Saw the rolls from the window and they looked so delicious with generous servings of thick juicy lobsters.

DSC02303

We settled for pizzas.

DSC02305 DSC02307

This big pizza is only KRW 15,000. So huge and we struggle to finish it. Bread and side dishes are free flow. You can toast your own bread at the “SELF” corner. “SELF” in Korea means self-service.

DSC02309

After our pizzas , it is time for dessert. Saw a promotion and this strawberry ice cream bingsu cost only KRW 3,900.

So yummy with generous servings for strawberries and raspberries.

DSC02313

After which , we went for our favourite bubble tea – Bubble Pong.

It is located across the road from NC Shopping mall’s Lotteria.

My favourite bubble tea place and i have it almost everyday.

DSC02291A

Served in a cute little bottle which you can bring home if you order the large size.

DSC02290A DSC02285A

That’s how we ended our day 10 !

Just started using some of the new skincare products i bought from Korea. Loving it and shall review it soon.

Busan : Where to go and eat

Day 4 , 5  , 6 and 7 in Busan, South Korea.

Here we go !

I came back weighing 54kg. OMG . I went there with my luggage weighing 15kg and came back with almost 30kg because it was filled with food and my skincare stock ups as well as my friends’ stuff which they asked me to help them to buy.

One thing i absolutely looked forward to was the BBQ. I can eat till my heart content and the price was not expensive and the meat were sooo yummy and fresh.

Here we are at one popular BBQ place in Seomyeon , Busan. The place where the talk about marriage started.

The place was huge and really spacious. There are private rooms , traditional floor seatings or table seatings. The decors and interiors are so nice. The toilets are even nicer. I kinda enjoy the toilet tours in big shopping malls like Shinsaegae and big restaurants like this. They looked so grand , bigger and better than some 5 star hotels’ toilets.  The interior decors for the make-up area are baroque style.

oDSC02057A DSC02058A DSC02060A DSC02061A

The name of the restaurant.

DSC02065A

After BBQ , Koreans usually have cold noodles or rice.

Oppa’s mum ordered rice whereas both of us had cold noodles and one of them was the North Korean cold noodles.

Saw a couple of restaurants serving North Korean food. Wanted to try but maybe next time. Saw the menu and food looks almost similar to South Korean food.

DSC02066A DSC02067A

After our lunch , we went to Seomyeon and that’s when the shopping started. I got only some new make up products ( which i will review soon once i started using them for almost a week. Can’t tell if a product is good after 1 try. Will need a week for me to see if it is good or not ). Didn’t get alot because i know i will be going back again in 7 mths’ time and they will change the packaging and improve their products frequently. So there is no need for massive stock up therefore i just get what i need only. Haha and most of the bulk of the make up buys belong to my friends. Their shopping lists are longer than mine.

I really love Seomyeon . Not because of the shopping but because it is quite a hip place and you can find both expensive and cheap things around easily. To the left of our apartment , you can find wet markets , mountains, cheap and nice food. To the right , is the hip place with all the shoppings , make ups , beauty , bars , food , cafes , supermarkets , aesthetics and plastic surgery clinics and departmental stores. Right infront is a departmental store and i can see people eating yummy buffets everyday in the mall when i do laundry at the balcony. Very convenient. There are 5 aritaums and many other brands just opposite our studio apartment that’s why i have no problem buying stuff for my friends. Also Lotte Department store and hotel are just 1 street away.

Oppa’s hometown is in Haeundae , Busan South Korea. Haeundae is a popular beach place and flooded with tourists and Koreans during summer because of its long coasts and beaches. And the world’s largest department store Shinsaegae is just nearby. Seafood restaurants , bars , chill out cafes and pubs everywhere in Haeundae. It is only 15 minutes drive from Seomyeon. Love these 2 places.

Well on Day 6 , we had Kimchi jiggae at the restaurant right below our apartment. Nice and cheap. I like the concept too.

DSC02095A

DSC02105A

There is a free flow self-help egg corner where you can fry omelette , scramble eggs or sunny side ups or whatever you want to do. Salt , pepper , oil and ketchup or mustard sauces were provided too.You will see this sign “SELF” in most Korean restaurants or petrol stations. It means self-service and it also means free flow also in restaurants.

Hehe i fried 4 omelette rolls and 1 sunny side up.

DSC02084A

Our Kimchi jiggae hotpot. So yummmz !

DSC02086A

Our pot of rice.

DSC02091A  DSC02098A

Our bill came up to KRW 13,000 for 2 pax. Which is approx SGD 14 for 2 pax. Damn cheap right ? Just take a lift down to 2nd floor and we can enjoy yummy food.

DSC02100A

Korean drip coffee.

If you travel to Korea and had meals in restaurants , you will often see a coffee machine near the entrances. They are free of charge and are for their customers. Some Korean restaurants in SG do also provide the free coffees but quite rare.

DSC02101A

One interesting concept i like about this Korean Kimchi jiggae restaurant was that the rice are free flow too and you get an entire pot from the rice cooker . Lol. It is a “SELF” corner too.

DSC02102A DSC02103A

DSC02104

I have been taking the lift up to our apartment so many times since April and i didnt know there is an Amore Pacific office branch just right at the 4th floor of our building . I didnt know it until the lift door opened at the 4th floor because i pressed the lift button wrongly. Heh..it means buying my Hera and Sulwhasoo is so much easier now eh ???

DSC02106A

Oh i always go to this restaurant that serves Jjim Ddak (Steam Soya Sauce Chicken) whenever i miss Singapore local home cooked food. It tastes like the chinese version and it is soo nice when served with sweet potato clear noodles.

DSC02108A

Actually cooking Korean food can be easy if you know how to mix the sauce well and accurately. Oppa’s mother made Yangnyeom pork ribs and they tasted so good. Very easy , she just mixed the sauce for us in a bottle and we just throw in these ribs and fry with the sauce. I just managed to learn the recipes and how to mix different kind of sauces.

DSC02109A  DSC02111A

So yummy and i really have to master how to mix the sauces well.

That pork rib was for our lunch and here’s what we had for dinner after meeting his friends.

We spent most of our time in Seomyeon and Haeundae. His hometown was in Haeundae , Busan South Korea. Haeundae , Nampodong , Seomyeons etc are like towns or districts in Busan. Same as Myeongdong , Gangnam , Hongdae etc in Seoul.

So we spent most of our time meeting his friends in Haeundae and Seomyeon during the day and sometimes at night for drinks since he only get to see them twice a year when he goes back.

So we had Tonkatsu for dinner. Tonkatsu was very cheap and only 7500KRW per pax. I seriously need to exercise more soon because i have been eating so much and gaining so much weight !

DSC02116A DSC02117A DSC02118A DSC02119A

On Day 7 , i went for my C curl perming. Initially , i wanted to go to Hwamiju in Seomyeon but hmm someone was lazy to walk there ( 10 minutes walk ) so we ended up at Juno Hair in Seomyeon which was just 2 minutes walk from our apartment.

I love getting my hair done in Korea because of the prices and services provided. Salons are spacious and the staff attended to their customers very fast. They will say sorry even if they made me waited for 2 minutes because he dropped the towel and he has to get a new one for me. Koreans don’t like to wait i realized. Alot of my friends complained that the cashiers in SG and staff in SG salons worked too slowly that’s why queuing and waiting time are always that long in SG.

I remembered having my hair dyed , volume rebonded , cut and wash all in 2-2.5 hours . I realized sometimes in SG , i was made to wait because the stylist was attending to other customers at the same time and i have to lie that i have something on so that they can work on me faster and put me as priority. Time is precious and i don’t like to sit there for 4 hours just for something that can be done in 2 hours.

While conditioning my hair , i was served tea and light snacks ( you can even ask for instant cup noodles if you haven’t had your meal ) and was given a crescent shape pillow for me to rest my arms and magazines. The cushion made everything comfy instead of having to bend my neck down to read the magazine or holding it up at a weird angle. You can put this cushion on the chair while getting your hair cut too. It will curve around your chair because of its crescent shape and it makes reading easier. You can also rest your arm comfortably.

Final touch up and trimming. Because i was the curls to look natural and slightly wavey.

Price tag for perming : KRW 120,000 which is approx SGD 130. I want to talk about maintaining C curls and i will blog about it later and separately.

Sunday , 27th Sept was Chu Seok( Thanksgiving day) and i wanted to buy Eu Yan Sang (bird nests) but can’t bring it into Korea. I brought them in before and they were confiscated at the Korea airport customs. Hmmm it was considered as livestock.

So i ordered from some Korean shopping sites and bought for his mum this set.

During Thanksgiving , Koreans give gifts such as traditional snacks , shampoos and food as gifts. Just like our Mooncake festival , we give out mooncakes and traditional snacks.

DSC02136A DSC02138A DSC02140A DSC02141A

It comes with traditional silk scarf wrapping too.

Yay , i managed to wrap it up nicely !

After which , we went to Haeundae to meet his friends for dinner. His friend owned this restaurant so we get to eat alot of yummy food. This is considered first round and after that we went for 2nd and 3rd rounds at different places respectively. Initially i was amazed how Koreans can talk , eat and drink from dinner till early morning. After experiencing it for the past 2 years , i got used to it and kinda enjoy it because the food are always good and so much to eat , learn , talk and listen. That’s how i improve my Korean too. But usually i got tired after the 2nd round and started stoning at the 3rd round.

   DSC02151A DSC02155A

That sums up our day before Chu Seok ( Thanksgiving Day ).

Shall update again , getting late and i need to put on my moisture mask ! LOL.

Busan : Places to go and eat

A week in Korea now. The weather is very nice and cooling. Just jeans , a tee and rider jacket or cardigan will do. But you will probably need thicker wears by mid or end of oct.

I have been eating alot lately. So much that i can have up to 5 meals a day.

Day 3 – lunch at Haeundae at Oppa’s friend’s restaurant.

The restaurant at Haeundae sells Duae Ji Kuk Bab ( Pork soup with rice ). I opted for the Soondae soup (sausage) because the other dishes has a strong “pork” taste which i dont really like.

After which we walked to Dong Baek Island. I went there in April but i wasn’t feeling well and was sick so i couldnt enjoy the stroll along Dong Baek Island but this time it was much better because my condition was veryy good.

After our stroll in Dong Baek Island , one of the oppa drove us to Gwanganli for seafood.

Weather was so nice. Breezy and not so cold. Can’t wear short sleeves though because of the wind.

Walked along Gwanganli to  Su Pyong Gong Won , found a seat and the oppas bought sashimis. You can find alot of sashimi restaurants in Gwanganli. They are everywhere and that is where you have live  and fresh seafood. Busan is well known for its seafood.

Sashimi , soju , beer and cola for me. The boys had a good  catch up while i enjoyed the breeze and view. It was really peaceful and relaxing.

Because the boys only meet twice a year , they had alot to catch up. And i had cravings for  SulBing so we decided to go for coffee instead of more alcohol. I can have desserts everyday in Korea. They are sooooo yummy and cheap.

I only go to Sul Bing for desserts. You can find their outlets almost everywhere. Their toasts are nice too. It has like a layer of mochi in between the toasts. Continue reading

Busan : Shop Eat Sleep

Tadah…im here in Busan.

And i have good news to share !

But before i do , let’s talk about what food i had here and the beauty products i got so far.

Besides receiving the HERA products i bought from my friend’s mum. The reason why i dont go to Lotte Mall or Shinsaegae was that i do not need to lug all the bottles of products back. They are really heavy because of the glass like bottles. So i will order from her who is an Amore Pacific counter counsellor and she will deliver to our house in Busan.

Also , Oppa’s mum welcomed me with a big bo of Cel-derma masks. I love their masks because they are moisturizing. I love their eye patches especially . I will put it on before i put on my make up sometimes because it is kind of firms up the eyes and putting on concealer is much easier.

DSC01930A

The new hydrogel masks from Cel-Derma which Oppa’s mum bought for me. I love the design on the box.

I tried the eye patch already and i love it. I have not tried the face masks yet. Will review it later.

This is something you can consider getting if you are looking for hydrogel eye patches.

DSC01933A

I already started using it. She also got me a V-lift collagen mask just for the jaw. Supposedly to use it like a medical mask and wrap it around your jaw in a Vshape.

Besides all the beauty stuff , she also prepared alot of food for us.
We arrived at 6,30am in Busan and she cooked Kimchi dumplings for us. They are soo yummy.

DSC01937A

We took a nap before she brought us to a popular Jjajangmyeon and Jjangbbong restaurant.
They taste so good that i can taste the “wo hei” in the noodles and soup. So damn nice !

DSC01939A DSC01941A DSC01942A

After which we went back home to have Korean grapes , did some work and it is dinner time.

She cooked a big pot of chapjae

11222399_10153695330958885_2680334202969061237_n

Salad in Korean sesame salad sauce and she drizzled alot of chai seeds and  i want to buy a bottle of the salad sauce back because it tastes so good. Shall take a picture after i bought it from the mart. Incase you are going to Korea and you love the salad , you should get this sauce.

12002812_10153695331048885_1131091811347032529_n

And she cooked spicy bulgogi too.

12036877_10153695330863885_672549967570699326_n

So yumz that i almost had food coma after that. I really want to learn how to cook all these and if i managed to master it during this trip , i will blog about the recipe ! So far i have 2 friends who tried my bean paste soup recipe and they love it. I got the recipe from oppa’s mum too.

Got people asked me before are those hand masks and leg masks useful ?
Hmmm im not really a fan of these though because i tried the Primera one which is a brand under Amore Pacific. It wasn’t that impressive though. Probably because i have really dry hands or it doesn’t work well . I have to carry hand cream anywhere i go to.

DSC01928A DSC01929A

You can buy a few to try first but wont recommend stock up yet.

Btw i just went for 3rd round of freckles removal last week. Im gonna blog about it soon after the last few specks fall off. I did mine at Aeon Medical and Aesthetics Centre. I had blogged the last 2 sessions before and you can find it under AEON Aesthetics tag found at the right side bar.

This coming weekend is Chuseok holiday. Going to experience new culture experiences this coming weekend with my new family. And i have to pay respect to Oppa’s dad who passed away about 10-12 years ago. Going to pay respect in a big full proper Korean bow with the mooncakes i bought from SG. Kept watching how was it done on youtube these days.

Gonna finish some work before i head to bed. Good night !

Busan : My Family in Korea

Spring in Busan.

Fortunately when i got well , weather turns slightly warmer and cherry blossoms were everywhere .
We went on a family trip to Jinhae which is an hour drive away. Jinjae oppa ( my bf’s brother ) took day off so that he can bring me there to see cherry blossoms. So kind of him and he is a really cool guy. He is tall , with a stable job at the top life insurance company in Korea , has a bachelor pad and is a really nice guy. Lol..any single ladies out there ?

Jinhae is an hour drive away from Busan. It is famous for its cherry blossoms at Romance Bridge and the railway station. I am really lucky to see full bloom cherry blossoms on that day because after that day , it rained EVERYDAY till the day i departed from Gimhae airport.

Of cos , you can see cherry blossoms in Busan too. The cherry blossoms lined up along the streets and the best place to see them in Busan is at Namcheon-dong. There is this particular street that looks really nice with the cherry blossoms.

Ok , back to Jinhae.

Jinhae is a small town so you can just spend few hours there. We spent like 3 hours there before we went for lunch and back to Busan.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Jinhae is very crowded during Cherry Blossom Festival in Spring . People and tourist flocked here to see the cherry blossoms , have picnic under the trees and take a stroll along the river canal.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There are both white and pinkish cherry blossoms. All so nice ! And just next to this place is a HUGE mountain.

The backdrop looks damn nice.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After spending 3 hours taking a stroll and pictures of the pretty cherry blossoms , Jinjae oppa drove us to a restaurant located near the base of a mountain and along the coast for the nicest and freshest live eel bbq !

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

At night , we drove up to Mount Hwangnyeong. It is the best place to see sunset in Busan. But we were at the premium outlets in the evening and can only go here at night. It was very cold.

Not only do you get to see beautiful Busan’s sunset here but you can get to see 360 degrees view of the entire Busan. It is located near Namcheon station so you can put your cherry blossoms sight seeing and sunset viewing on the same afternoon.
How to get here ?

Take MRT to Namcheon station (exit 4) and then take bus number 38 to Hwangnyeong mountain or you can cab there.

City night view of Busan .

Gwangan bridge is brightly lighted.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We were all cold and hungry. It was 10pm and we went to the famous “Hae Mae Ddokbokki” at Namcheon for dinner. This place is famous for its noodle soup and Ddokbokki. It is cheap and nice. The soup is free flow too. It is a humble street stall located at a back alley.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

All of us were dead tired and too tired and zonked out once we arrived home in Seomyeon !

So , http://www.agneselle.com had the first launch after 1 month of hiatus.

New launch just up at http://www.agneselle.com ! Hop over now to shop !

During the 1 month hiatus, i was working on some new looks which i can’t wait to launch in May for the start of Summer collection. There will ALOT of crochets. When i was in Korea , there were lotsa crochet everywhere and i was soo inspired by it. Went on a work trip 2 weeks ago with a friend and she saw the samples when i was choosing the colours. Very excited for them. Trying to create new refreshing looks every year. Last year , it was more on basics but this year , it will be abit more clean , tailored and feminine. So keep your eyes on Agneselle’s previews for Summer Collections.

Oppa and i can’t wait to watch this movie on Friday. This movie broke the new record of being the 2nd highest grossing film in Korea’s cinema history.

Gukje Market 국제시장

The movie was filmed in Busan and features the Busan Gukje Market located at Nampo-dong. When you watch the trailer , you will realize that the way they speak and the tune sounds different. Well , that’s Busan Dialect (aka Busan Saturi ). That’s how my bf and his family speaks. So i must get used to it because the vocabs and expressions used are different from the standard Seoul dialect. Each city speaks different dialects. Seoul dialect is the standard Korean you found in textbooks or news channels.

It is Busan’s largest traditional market since Korean war in 1950.  You can see many amazing things , crafts , potteries etc etc.

How to get to Gukje Market ?

Take MRT to Nampo-dong station and exit 1 .

It was one of the place i wanted to go to but i was sick and i wasted like 5 days staying indoors.

Some of the places i wanted to go to was Busan University street which is similar to Ewha Women’s University street in Seoul where you can find many cheap eateries and shopping area.

How to get to Busan University ?

Take MRT to Busan University station and exit 1.

Can’t wait for the weekend and new stocks to arrive.

Busan : My Family in Korea

I fell very sick the night after i came back from Nampo-dong. I was resting at home and Oppa went to the bank to settle his accounts. I slept through the entire day till Jinjae oppa came back from work and drove us to Oppa’s mother’s motel in Gimhae because it was her birthday.

It was terrible. I was vomiting and having non-stop clear water diarrhea. Felt really terrible. My stomach was grumbling and growling sooooo loudly. I think it was stomach flu. I felt very sorry because it was Oppa’s mother’s birthday and instead joining them to celebrate , having Korean BBQ and cut the birthday cake , i have to sleep and rest in the room. Felt really bad because i vomited right infront of her..but luckily , i found a plastic bag and not messing up her motel floor.

The motel housekeeper helped to set up the heating pad on the bed for me , made our room and i just fell asleep after that.

Oppa sent me a picture of the yummy cake 😦 But i can’t eat it.

1429162834298

So the next day , Oppa’s mum drove me to the hospital just next door. Because i was too weak to walk , she drove there even though the hospital was just on the next street which is 2 mins walk away.

Put on IV dripped , consulted the door who spoke a little bit of English and collected my medication. The price was only KRW 68,000 . I thought i have to pay like hundreds of dollars and i was checking whether i can claim from my insurance. I was really surprised. No wonder Oppa would rather go back to Korea for medical check ups etc because he maybe able to claim from his insurance company and it is also cheaper even if it is non-claimable. I paid SGD 90 at my local GP just opposite my house when i had fever or SGD 60 for a normal flu.

I don’t know why but suddenly after i came back from Korea , i felt like everything in SG is so expensive.

And it really is.

1429162831685

So for 5 days , i was bedridden , vomiting and having diarrhea the whole day and was too weak to even walk. I can’t eat anything. Whatever i ate just came out. I ate nothing but still i have so much vomit and diarrhea to excrete out. And what’s worst was that it was all clear water. So dehydrated that i only peed once a day.

But thanks to Oppa and his mother , i got well pretty fast . She prepared honey drink and porridge for me. I wanted to cook myself but she insisted i should rest and she reminded me daily to not to eat oily food via kakaotalk messages.

On the 3rd day after i fell sick , i managed to drag my feet to Haeundae beach with Oppa to meet his friend for lunch at his restaurant and a walk to Dongbaekseom (Dongbaek Island) .

How to get to Haeundae Beach ?

Take the MRT line and stop at Haeundae station. The beach front is just 5 minutes walk away.

Oppa’s friend’s restaurant specializes in Duae-Ji-Kuk-Bab (Pork soup with rice ) .

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I had no mood for the food and just drank the soup. It is really nice. You can find alot of such restaurants selling Pork Soup with rice in Busan. It is just like our Bak Kut Teh but just that there is no peppery taste.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After that , we went to starbucks for hot coffee. I wasn’t feeling well and the weather was cold and rainy so i didn’t want to walk along the beach. Too windy. Thereafter , we walked to Dongbaek Island ( Dongbaekseom ) .

Dongbaekseom Island is a very small island with many Dongbaek trees. At the top of the island, there is a statue and a monument of a scholar and writer during the Silla Dynasty. It is an island linked to the mainland Busan . So you can walk from Haeundae beach. If you are going to Haeundae Beach , you can put Dongbaek Island together on the same day. It is at the right side of Haeundae beach ( you will see The Westin Chosun Hotel ) and further up , there is a bridge/road that links to Dongbaek Island. If weather was good , you can see Oryukdo Island ( “Or” means 5 , “Yuk” means 6 , “Do” means island ). The reason for its name is because depending on the tide and condition of the day , sometimes it looks like 5 island and sometimes looks like 6 islands. It is a rock island that was made purely out of stones. You need to take a ferry tour around the islands from Haeundae.

I didn’t manage to take pictures at Dongbaek Island because it was raining and windy and i wasn’t feeling well. So i totally have no mood to take picture and just want to go somewhere warm.  We took at cab later to Centum City Shinsaegae. The world’s largest shopping mall. It was sooo huge ! Don’t even have the mood to shop because i kept going to the toilet to vomit.

We ended the day early and went back to Seomyeon to rest.

Next day , Oppa’s brother cooked yummy spaghetti for our breakfast before we head to Sajik baseball stadium. Before that , we went to the nearest Lotte Mart to buy beer , coke , water , pizza and fried chicken. My condition was 60% and the smell of any oily food makes me nausea and feel like want to vomit very badly.

By then i already lost alot of weight lol. My arms were like stick. I was 51.5 kg before and after fell sick , my weight dropped to 47kg.  Wearing the old Lotte jersey and ready to cheer for the team at Sajik Stadium. Sajik stadium is home ground for Lotte Giants which represents the Busan team. You have to buy the ticket inorder to watch a baseball match. You can buy and book your seats online or at the stadium main entrance.

1429162847331

Full house. First game of Spring. Baseball matches were stopped in Winter and only resume in Spring to Autumn.

Chants of Lotte Giants cheer everywhere. I posted a video on my instagram.

My 3 bodyguards who took care of me when i was sick. My bf , his brother and Soobin his best friend.

20150328_143225

After the baseball game , we went to Haeundae beach for dinner and met all of Oppa’s high school friend.

We had 2 rounds of dinner. BBQ live eels with soju and beer and 2nd round was Kimchi jiggae and other food. Whole thing ended at 3am and we were dead tired.

Soobin Oppa booked a sea view room at Novotel Haeundae Beach for me to show his appreciation and thanks when he came to SG last year. I accompanied him everyday to all tourist destinations in SG for 4 days. And we attended a baby shower. This is the first time i attended a Korean baby shower. Things were abit different compared to Singapore style baby shower.

After which , Soobin Oppa brought me to Busan Premium Outlet. But i wasn’t in the mood to shop because i  wasn’t feeling good. So the next day , my bf’s bro brought us back to Lotte Premium Outlet in Gimhae to shop after i felt better and my condition was 90%.  These 2 outlets are 2 different locations.

How to get to Busan Premium Outlet ?

1133 Jeonggwan-ro, Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan

Take MRT to Jangjeon station and then take bus No 1008. Bus ride takes about 1 hour.

OR

Take bus No 37 from Busan Bus Terminal . Journey is about 1 hour.

Im not sure if there were any changes made in the bus route so it will be better for you to check and confirm at the MRT or bus terminal.

This place is REALLY ulu..like in the middle of nowhere suddenly pop up a HUGE premium outlet. Apparently the one in Busan is Asia’s largest outlet.

It is a shopping heaven for men because you can buy alot of sports related stuff at outlet price ! Nike , Adidas , New Balance , Reebok , Taylor Adidas etc etc. And if you are traveling to somewhere cold , you can buy North Face jackets at really cheap price at less than SGD 300. A North Face jacket usually cost more $500. For the ladies , you can shop at Roxy , Quiksilver , Michael Kors , Coach , Burberry and any other luxury brands or Lotte Mall for cosmetics and branded stuff like Burberry , Jill Stuart etc etc. The one at Busan has a Lotte Mall and Lotte Mart.

The Nike and New balance shoes are dirt cheap ! I was tempted to get them but i resisted the temptation. I got a pair of Nike sneakers ( white colour with magenta colour Nike ✓ logo ) for only $40. Oppa’s bro bought it for me. Don’t worry , sure have your size. Take your time to shop. Look at the number of boxes of stocks.

20150329_152751

I got this pair of New Balance shoes below 1.5 years ago at KRW 99,000 and it is only KRW 39,000 at the outlet.

20150330_182051 20150330_182054

There are alot of selections. Not only shoes , but you can find sports wear , equipments or whatever.

We went to the one at Busan and another one in Gimhae. The one in Gimhae is cheaper and has more selections for brands like Nike , Adidas , New balance and Reebook as compared to the one in Busan actually.  The one at Gimhae is very near Oppa’s mother’s motel. No wonder she said she goes there often.

Tourist Tax Refunds are available and you have to tell the cashier you want tax refund. Then they will give you the envelope and tax refund slip.

20150330_184728 20150330_190912

I bought 2 pairs of Havaianas at Busan Premium Outlet’s Lotte Mall.

20150401_155503

2 Pairs for only KRW 48,300 after 30% discount. It was cheap even before the discount.  One pair in SG is already SGD 59.90 for one with design and the basic one is already $39.90. I got a hot pink basic one with thick straps for KRW 21,000 and $27,300 which is about SGD 60. A good time for me to buy because my dog bite and snapped my havis and im currently wearing a slippery $5 cotton-on slippers.

Samsonite luggages there are 30% cheaper too. A handcarry pull luggage is less than KRW 300,000 .

Guess who bought the most things ? Not me but Oppa’s brother.

It was night time . Look at the cherry blossoms glowing at night under the street lights.

20150330_210023

Walking to Oppa’s car. The weather was really good and we had alot of fun probably because my condition was better after i stopped vomiting and having diarrhea.

20150330_210028

We had a long day and were so tired. Totally knocked out after that.

*Edited and added more content because i accidentally published the post after writing and editing half way..

K-beauty time !

The eyelash extensions i did in Busan is really BEST and i love it. I did it in Seomyeon. The shop has no website , no facebook or anything. So i can’t tell you how to go there and the address is in Korean. Sorry !

If i can find an eyelash extension salon doing it at the same price and quality as the ones in Korea ( KRW 30,000) which is abut SGD 35 ,  i will go for it every month liao. But in SG , it is very expensive and i can only do on special occasions like my birthday and CNY or Vday.

I always wanted to do when i travelled to Korea last time but didn’t get to do it because it will take 2 hours and not everyone will wait for me for 2 hours. But Oppa dropped me off at the eyelash studio and he went a nearby to the indoor baseball batting cage to practice his batting while i had my eyelash extensions and eyelash perming done. I was too sick and there was nothing i can do except to sleep and lie on the bed ( I have been traveling since i was young and this was the first time i was admitted to the hospital overseas. Will blog about the experience of being admitted to a Korean hospital ) .The eyelash studio is just conveniently located right opposite our house

These 2 pictures below were taken on the day right after the eyelash extensions and lash perming were done.

PIcture below :

3 weeks later and was yesterday .

Pardon for the messy hair and back ground for these 2 pictures. I just woke up lah and all taken in the my bf’s room in Korea and my room for the picture below.

Still very dense , curled and thick. I think only dropped 2-3 strands so far ( that i found them on my cheeks ). Usually the ones i did in SG dropped off within 2 weeks ( like 75% of the lashes dropped off and left a few pathetic strands ). Im still finding reliable , good and cheaper ones in SG.  I like the one my Korean make up artist Yoona Han did for me but she doesn’t do eyelash extensions anymore 😦

share

After the end of this week will be the 4th week since i did my eyelash extensions in Korea. Let’s see how long it can last.

Felt abit “sian” of my hair so i decided to go for a change. I cut my fringe K-style.

I hesitated for about 2-3 months before i decided to snip it off on Monday by a K-stylist at Novena recommended by Dr Kim from Aeon Aesthetics and Medical Clinic.

See through bangs is the IN thing now . Why didn’t i cut it in Busan ? Well , the price is almost the same lah. About $10 for a fringe cut but maybe $2 lesser in Korea. Anyway i get it done by a K-stylist in SG. So same same right.

I asked for “see-through bangs” and aegyo hair at the sides ( longer fringe at the sides ). I cut bangs before back in 2013 but it was straight thick bangs without side aegyo hair and i look abit “manly” when i tie up my hair. The side aegyo hair adds a little femininity to the look. Looks better when you curl the aegyo hair .

C360_2015-04-13-16-33-36-774 Processed with VSCOcam with s1 preset

So where did i get my inspiration from ?

My 2 favorite actresses – Song Hye Gyo and Shin Min-ah .

You see how they have longer side fringe ( aegyo hair ) ? Looks more feminine right ?

The see-through-bangs are supposed to be slightly longer and looks better. It is supposed to be over your eye brows so you can side sweep it too.  “Block” or “section” them together when you comb and spread some out on the parts which can see your forehead so that it looks “translucent”. Just like the ones on Song Hye Gyo and Shin Min Ah.

1428975710402 1428971641142

Bangs look nice and chic but a hassle because i have to blow dry it straight down after shower. Also , it looks very messy after i woke up. I have to bring a velcro roller out and keep it in my make up pouch with an ‘ah lian’ comb because when it gets a little windy or humid , the fringe looks very messy or sticks to my forehead. When i was in Korea, i saw girls curling their fringe with the velcro roller when they eating in cafes or restaurants or they do in the toilet like it is normal and nobody stares or said anything. But in when i took out my roller yesterday to curl it in the toilet because the weather was really too humid and it stuck to my forehead , i attracted alot of stares and i was afraid of being ‘stomped’ . LOL. That is one thing i wanna blog about – Beauty culture and influence and what makes me go in Korean beauty products.
