Last week was beauty week !
Fell sick for a few days ( flu , sore throat and migraine ) and my skin was quite cui.

It was also time to do eyelash extension touch up at LushLashh which is located at Raffles Place.

At first i thought of touching up but i decided to redo the whole set. The last time i did B curl lashes so this time i decided to go for C curl lashes to create the “eyeliner” effect. It really saved me alot of time. I do not need to put any eyeliner. Now i just apply my BB cushion , eyeshadow and lipstick. Shortening my make up time can spare me extra 15 mins of beauty sleep !

IMG_0435

I cannot remember what was the length i did. But you can ask the lash technician Wendy on the set i did. I trust her so much so usually i just tell her what kind of look i want and let her do it according to her own creativity. It turned out very well and i like it. I had a good sleep. It took only an hour.

It is really quite hard to find eyelash extension parlour in Raffles Place especially at affordable price. Lush Lashh Korean Lash Parlour is located at The Arcade #03-12. You can call or sms 85685268 to make an appointment. The Arcade is the building beside Chevron house and you can see it immediately after coming up the escalator from the MRT station to street level. Wah i miss the yummy fish soup at The Arcade. If you are going to have your lashes done , you should go to the 1st floor ( beside fruit juice shop ). The fish soup there is very nice. I had it almost every week when i was working at Raffles Place few years ago.  There is a promotion going on – $90 for unlimited single strand Korean soft lash extension and it comes with free touch up within a week.

My hair was abit dry these days because i did not blow dry my curls. On good days when im not lazy , i will blow dry it and the curls will look very nice and pretty but on bad and lazy days , i dont bother to blow dry it.

So i went to find my hair stylist , Joanne Cheang at Raffles Place to do a Korean hair treatment. This treatment is better than the Keratase one i tried. It is similar to the one i did in Korea. The hair will feel thick and moisturized. I can feel the volume. I did it once and decided to go for the 2nd time because it was good. It makes my curls look healthy and bouncy. I used to go to Joanne to have my hair done when i was working at Raffles Place few years back. Because she is very good with curls. If you wonder how come some colleagues or your bosses can come to work with nice curls and hair nicely set ? Some of them went to blow their hair as early as 7.30am. Joanne do alot of hair styling , treatment and coloring for alot of ladies working at Raffles Place. A private banker from my previous work place recommended her to me and that was how i got to know her and let her do my hair. The salon is at Chevron house. You can mention my name and she can give some discount.

Also , before the week ended , i went to Aeon Aesthetics and Medical Centre for another round of laser toning session. My skin looks really tired lately because i fell sick and wasn’t feeling well. Sometimes i was so tired that i forgot to do my daily facial masking. Luckily , i get to have laser toning and facials done at Aeon if not , my skin sure more cui. I need some skin rejuvenation.

After laser toning , i had post laser treatment and facial mask done. For more detailed information about laser toning , you can click on the Aeon Aesthetics and Medical Centre tag found on the right sidebar. I have reviewed on several lasers , facials and treatments i had done at Aeon.

Haha this was my before bed time photo.

Ok, gonna go to sleep now. Need my beauty sleep.

But before i do , i like both of this maxi dress at http://www.agneselle.com

Which one should i wear for an upcoming wedding dinner ? Hmmmm black or white ! I couldnt decide which one so i kept both for myself.

I have been cooking every weekend for the past few weeks.

Haha quite happy that i took about 1.5 hours to prepare and cook instead of the usual 3-4 hours.

That means my skills improved right ?

Here’s the menu for last week.

Salad with apple + Chai seeds + Korean sesame salad sauce which i bought from Lotte Mart.

DSC02458A

And Bak Kut Teh with mushrooms and lotsa garlic. Eh…i don’t really like garlic so i separate my own soup from Oppa’s. Koreans love garlic. But im not a garlic lover.

I am quite impressed by the Bak Kut Teh i cooked last week.
Didn’t expect myself to cook so well haha. I boiled the soup for an hour under small fire.

Whenever i am stress , i will cook haha so i can eat too. Cooking takes my mind of other things because i just focus on the taste and adjusting the seasoning. So my dear Mr Shin was being well-fed by me these days.

DSC02459A

And last week , besides going for facial and laser toning at Aeon Medical and Aesthetic Clinic , i also had eye lashes done at LushLashh which is located at Raffles Place.

LushLashh Korean Lash Parlour – The Arcade @Raffles place #03-12 Tel: 85685268

I had my Korean eyelash extensions done in Korea a month ago . And it is time to go for another round but now in SG. The done in Korea was very lasting and so i requested for the same to be done in LushLashh except that i want a few longer strands.

Here’s the before and after. What i like about them was that instead of using tapes to tape your eyelids , they used Coenzyme Q10 eye mask to rejuvenate your eyes as the lash technicians work on your lash.

DSC02463A

I had a good sleep because the bed was comfy. I told Wendy (the lash technician) that i will tear at times because i have sensitive and dry eyes. So she dripped abit of eye drops before she started so that my eyes are well moisturized. So during the whole session , i did not tear at all. Yes even when i sleep , i will wake up with abit of tears.

Quite difficult to find a eye lash extension parlour at Raffles place area. This is right smack beside Chevron house which is good for office ladies who worked near that area. I will definitely go back there again because i feel comfortable there and the owners are very friendly and nice. They are lash extension lovers too and were customers to some lash parlours before they decided to start on their own because of their love and interest for eye-lash extensions.

Eyelash extensions do let me sleep abit more before i go to work because i do not need to wake up early to do much eye make up. Now i just put on BB cushion , eyeshadows and lipsticks.

I did B-curl lashes here. The one i did in Korea was also B-curl.

DSC02466A

They are having promotions right now.

$90 unlimited single strand extension (Latest Korean soft lash)

You can follow them in instagram to view the different types of lashes done at LushLashh (Instagram account Lushlashh).

Oh , here’s the mousse which i reviewed previously. Managed to take life pics and i think it is time i should consider a new camera. Very hard to focus with this Sony cam leh.

DSC02493A DSC02494A

And this is a new primer which i have been using for a week already.

Espoir Pure Radiance Glowrizer.

I bought it from Espoir standalone boutique right at Seomyeon MRT. Eh…i cannot remember which exit was it. But it is right at Seomyeon. Quite hard to find Espoir boutiques around.

Espoir has really nice neutral colour eyeliners and lipsticks.

I was shopping alone (buying my friend’s stuff) and i saw this couple of times and quite tempted to get it because of the pretty “balls” inside.

DSC02495A

After using it , i really like it alot. It is different from the HERA one as in this is more moisturizing because it contains moisturizing essences. So it is a beauty skin care + make up product. The lady in the shop explained alot to me in Korean but i was busy testing it out so i only heard about the moisturizing essences part lol.

DSC02496A DSC02497A

*Saw that red mark ? A plastic bag caught fire at his bro’s home while me and his mum were in the kitchen preparing for Chu Seok’s lunch. I put out the fire but a speck of burning plastic piece from the plastic bag landed on the back of my hand and it melted and stuck onto my skin. I couldn’t wash it off because it actually melted and stuck onto my skin . Have to “scratch” it off and i ended up with a small scar 😦

DSC02499A

Anyway , you can see the different with and without this primer. This is good primer for first time users because ..

  1. It is not sticky
  2. Easily absorbed
  3. Doesn’t give a disco light effect kind of shimmer
  4. Moisturizing and it is easy to apply your make up after that
  5. Subtle radiance .

Price tag : KRW 28,000

If it is your first time looking for a primer , this is a good one because it is easy to apply and also for lazy people because it contains moisturizing essences. You can get it from Espoir store in Korea. There is no Espoir in SG. I don’t seem to find it easily everywhere but if you are going to Busan , you can get it from Seomyeon ( near one of the MRT exit gantry ). Located beside TOP TEN shop and the exit that goes to Lotte Dept Store. I haven’t been to Seoul for 2 years already. The last i saw it was in Myeongdong. Not sure if they moved.

It was grooming day on Sunday. My parents went to JB to do some shopping and so i went along. I wanted to go to KSL mall to do some beauty shopping and grooming.

Some people asked why took the trouble just to go all the way there ? Well , things are really cheaper and i can do many things there and pamper myself without feeling the heartbreak.

I changed SGD 305 to Ringgit 900. And after 6 hours in KSL mall , i still have some monies left.

Exchange rate is approx SGD  1 = Ringgit 3

Alot of money changers in SG ran out of ringgit. You can change in JB at rate 2.94.

I had classic gelish pedi and manicure early in the morning at 10am when the shops opened. Why 10am ? Because the shops are mostly empty when it just open at 10am and i do not need to wait or queue.

Classic gelish manicure + Classic gelish pedicure costs RM130 which is approx SGD43. Classic gel pedicure alone costs RM75. It is so much cheaper than in SG and they do it pretty fast because there are 2 people attending to me. One do my pedi and one do for me mani.  No surcharge if i do 2 colours .

20150906_111838

This is a very big nail salon. Very comfortable too. It is always packed. Managed to take some snap shots with my phone while having my manicure done. No time to go down to Olympus service centre to service my faulty cam 😦

20150906_112224  20150906_112247

DSC01926A

I had apple red pedicure done. Love it !

After that my parents and  went to Soon Soon Heng Bak Kut Teh which is just opposite KSL mall.

Famous place for Bak Kut Teh and have to queue for quite awhile. So after my 10am pedi and mani , i had Bak Kut Teh for lunch before i go for hair treatment. How to get to the Bak Kut Teh shop from KSL ? You can find a Hongkong cafe on the ground floor. I cant remember the exact name but it is a Hong Kong style cafe. The bak kut teh store is just the street right opposite the Hong kong style cafe at KSL mall.

20150906_122836A

20150906_121007A

You can choose the toppings you one in your bak kut teh ( pig intestines , stomache , liver etc ). Pretty nice and it is really crowded and have to queue to wait for seats. I prefer to seat outdoor because indoor ventilation is quite bad. I came out with my hair and shirt smelling like bak kut teh. So after that i went to RCS salon for Keratase hair treatment. 2 steps Keratase treatment cost Ringgit 160 and 3 steps costs Ringgit 220. There are alot of hair and nail salons in KSL mall. I wanted to go Kimly’s hair salon but i have to wait cos it was packed so i decided to go to another one.

The service was good and i had treatment done in a special treatment room. One thing i like about it is that i was given a 15 minutes head , neck and shoulder massage. The guy just put a timer infront of me and started the 15 minutes massage after he applied the Keratase treatment on my hair and before washing it off. Hair dye costs less than SGD 100. If im not wrong its only about $50-$70 sgd. Cant really remember. Most of the salons offer the same price for treatments and hair dye. There are tooooo many hair salons there already. I spent like 20 minutes walking everywhere to compare the price. There are soo many many salons such that it gets abit competitive and it seems like everyone is offering the same price for everything except for those super atas ones which are mostly the empty ones.

And last Friday , we went to Dong Bang Hong for Korean-Chinese food.

Dong Bang Hong is located opposite one of  Telok Ayer’s MRT exit Just come out of Telok Ayer mrt , cross the road and you will see it.

If i were to compare with Hwangsil , the Jjambbong here tastes better. I don’t know why but the last time i came here , it wasn’t that good. Maybe they changed the cook ?

I cant wait for more Korean food this weekend 🙂
Someone’s gonna bring me for more BBQ ! Yumm Yummm !

Besides putting some masks from Cel-Derma , Leaders insolution , AHC into Cj Mall , Hyundai Mall or Lotte Mall’s shopping cart and buying HERA from my friend’s mother , i also just added these 2 items into the shopping cart this week . All ready to cart out 3 days before i fly so that when i arrive , i can receive these items in our Busan home.

I love the eye liner pencils and lipsticks from Espoir.

And i decided to try this primer. I need this because i will be going outdoors often now and i need my make up to stay and look presentable. Of cos , i will be stocking up my HERA UV Mist cushions , HERA skincare and other stuff too. Shall do a list of what i have gotten when im back in Oct.

Screen Shot 2015-09-05 at 8.56.52 PM

Just ordered a set of Hanboks for my niece and nephew. Hope their sizes are not out of stock. Because thanks giving is just around the corner and many parents will be buying han boks for their children.

Love this colour. Cute and so sweet right ?

Screen Shot 2015-09-05 at 9.03.57 PM

14 more days before back to home in Busan.

I was pretty nervous during the trip back in Apr and this trip will even be more nervous. More and bigger things to discuss about.

DSC01079A

But before i get tensed up and busy with more work , shall just put on a mask and relax.

Some friends said im crazy/disciplined enough to put on masks everyday because they are too lazy/tired/no time to do so.

But if you really want good skin , you really need to take are lah. Some girls go to manicure/pedicure/hair treatments monthly/fortnightly/weekly. But i do this everyday instead lah.

I switched to hydrogel masks since beginning of this year. I used to go for sheet masks and found hydrogel masks abit too troublesome. Because sometimes i will scratch or tore it with my nails. But now i got used to it and prefer hydrogel masks now. Because it doesn’t dries up as fast as sheet masks and it also fits into the corner of my eyes and nose properly.

Besides using Sulwhasoo , Hera and Cel-Dermal masks , i am also using Leaders Insolution mask. It is one of the top and best selling masks in Korea.

DSC01905A

Compare to Sulwhasoo , Hera and Cel-Dermal , the amount or volume of serums/essences in Leaders Insolution masks are much more. Such that i can even use the excess serums from the sachets to apply on my neck , chest , shoulders and sometimes i apply it on my knee caps and elbows ( areas prone to dry skin ). Their masks are so serums/essences rich such that after i place the mask on my face , i need to pour the excess serums from the sachet onto my palm and spread it out all over my face again and the remains on my neck , chests and other body parts.

You definitely need to try Leaders Insolution if you do not know the brand yet. I knew about this brand a year ago but only get to try their products (serums) this year’s April when i went to Korea. It is hard to find their products and so far i can only get it online from Hyundai mall or CJmall website. I wonder where Oppa’s mum get them from. It is hard to find them in the market.

Here are some of my favourites.

I usually go for brightening , collagen/lifting, whitening and hydration masks.

I will get 1-2 pieces for wrinkles. Ha…i probably need more of these in 5 years time.

DSC01906A DSC01907A DSC01908A DSC01909A DSC01910A

This premium mask is pretty good and i love the smell. It is hard to find it even online.
I need to ask Oppa’s mum where she buys all her make up stuff. She told me ladies there buy masks in cartons and not in pieces. Lol. Because they use it so often . The last time , she bought a huge carton of masks for me ( about 100 over pieces ) .  My whole luggage was filled with masks. But heh…i love the masks !

DSC01912A DSC01914A

Just added some stuff from Hyundai mall , CJmall and Lotte mall’s website and can’t wait to ship them to Oppa’s house.

Going to bring an empty hand carry luggage there to bring back all my skincare and make up stuff.

Have a good weekend !

Happy Birthday Robert Oppa ~ ^^

Saturday night BBQ with the Korea Tigers baseball team to celebrate Robert Oppa’s birthday.

I was very touched by his support and he is more like a fatherly figure to me.

Every BBQ comes with yummylicious Pork Belly , beef and seafood ( alaskan king crab , lobsters and more ).

DSC01889

The star of the day was drenched with ice cold barrel of water. It was a “BEER ONLY” party and i couldnt find any water or soft drinks. Hundreds of cans of beer and sojus.

DSC01897

After the BBQ , we went up to his house for 2nd round of more beer and sojus. Of cos , i can’t drink at all so i was glad that i can finally drink water.

Had great catch up on Saturday with 2 of my SRJC friends Lihua and Candice for lunch at Jpot and then dinner with the Korea Tigers.
I realized that alot of my close friends are teachers and it is good to learn some parenting and teaching tips from them. It was a good catch up talking about the times we spent in school and all the naughty bits.

Talking about school days , i want to talk about this speech by Jack Ma ( Founder of Alibaba ) . It is a good video and i hope that this video inspires you if you are facing any problems in work , relationships or anything now.

  1. Before 20 years old , be a good student….way to entrepreneur to learn some experience.
  2. Before 30 years old , follow somebody , go to a small company….It is not which company you go , it is which boss you follow.
  3. From 30-40 years old , you have to think very clearly…
  4. When you are 40-50 years old ,you have to do all the things you are good at…
  5. When you are 50-60 years old , work for the young people..because young people can do better than you
  6. When you are over 60 years old , spend time for yourself.

When you are 25 years old , make enough mistakes . Don’t worry , you fall and you stand up. Just enjoy the show.

I have to say that i can truly relate to this speech because i have gone through 1) and now i am in 2) . I had made mistakes in judgement of people , relationships and things when i was 25 and young. It is probably a blessing in disguise. Because through these mistakes , i managed to improve myself and learn to be smart when it comes to dealing with people or relationships. Also , i learnt to cherish the people around me. The people whom i know are true friends.

On a side note , i’ve been sleeping really late these days to read up on articles and my eye bag was quite bad.
And i have been putting on the Mediheal eye patch which i bought from Korea in the morning before i put on my make up . It sure does help !
At night , i will put eye serum or light cream.

DSC01880A

Here is the eye serum which im using from Aeon Medical and Aesthetics clinic. If you want sunblocks , you can try the sunblock from Aeon medical and aesthetics centre which is SPF90. Oppa is currently using it too because he stays under the sun for 4 hours every sunday during baseball practice. It helps to prevent sun burnt and protects the skin. Im also using Hera collagen eye up cream and Sulwhasoo firming eye cream. I was given alot of the sample sachets lol..it’s been almost a year and i still haven’t finish my sample sachets. LOL. I use the serums in the day and creams at night. I also use eye patch before i go out or put make up. The eye area looks more firmed up and easier to put on make up . But of cos , the best remedy is to drink more water and have ample sleep !

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This eye patch is something you may want to get if you are traveling to Korea. You can find it at Olive and Young stores.  They have a huge range of Mediheal’s masks at Olive and Young.

K-Beauty Time !

Last week was a beautiful week. Not only i get to do what i always wanted to do , i also get the support from my love ones . People around me gave me such positivity that it makes me want to work harder and strive for the better.

Finally , i passed the 2nd paper and have 2 more papers to go. I know it’s not gonna be easy to start but im hope with my determination , i will do well. Also , it is good to be under someone who you know you can trust and guide you along the way.

Not only was it a beautiful week to know that i have so many who are there to give me support and encouragements.
But also , i got some love from Etude house.

Being a fan of Korean make ups , i was glad to receive some new launch products from Etude House.

This new cushion is a little different from other cushions under their brand.

It comes with cute circular shapes . These have pearly highlighting effects. It is to give you the “glow”.

First dab on the cushion. You can see the mix of BB cream and the pearly highlighter.

First dab on the skin. So you have to use the cushion and slowly blend it in if not you will have whitish spots on your face.

Here is the before and after photo.

And close up of the “with” photo.

This BB cushion has a pink tone and brightening effect because of the pearly highlighter circular things in the cushion. I realized that this actually lightened my face by one tone. So i wont probably use it on my entire face. I am now using it as a highlighter. I apply it on my forehead , nose bridge , cheekbones and lower chin . The BB cream + Pearly highlighter makes the highlighting effect looks abit more natural and not so harsh which i pretty like it. I will definitely continue to use this and use it as a highlighter but not to apply on the entire face.

Coverage : 4/10 . Very sheer
( It takes me to apply 3 times over my face just for full coverage and ended up i looked so white). So if you want to go for sheer and natural coverage , this will be good.

Lasting : 6/10 . Touch up needed after every 3 hours and when im under the sun.

This cushion in my make up pouch as a highlighter.

 **

I just had part of the freckles on my left cheek removed last monday at Korean aesthetic clinic ,  Aeon Medical and Aesthetic Centre at Pacific Plaza.

This picture was taken 3 days after the BBL freckles removal treatment.

This spots are the “husks”. The spots where the BBL laser “shot at” . It is a painless procedure and i have blogged my first freckle removal experience HERE (right cheek) . That blogpost is more detailed.

The brown freckle spots will turn darker into “husks”before they start fading off. They actually fade abit day by day especially after shower. Avoid scratching them. They don’t itch.

The “husks” can be concealed with concealers or foundations. I put on make up after the laser treatment. It will take one week for these to clear. During this one week , it is advisable to avoid the sun. So you have to apply sunblock.

The “husks” dropped off by the 5th day which was last friday. I only had part of of the freckles on my left cheek removed.

I also had laser toning done and my skin brightens up alot . My 3rd laser toning in 3 weeks. Putting on BB Cushion or foundation is so easy now and i just went out today to Suntec City and Cityhall with my bare face ( with non-tinted sunblock ) .

So now , i had half of the freckles on my right and left cheeks removed. And im going for the 3rd round to remove both sides together next week. Can’t wait for the 3rd round and when the “husks” fall off , i will be freckles free. Not sure if i need to go for 4th round though and im gonna consult Dr Kim when i see him next week. Thanks to Dr Kim , i finally get to remove my freckles.

So freckles gonna be cleared soon but my eye bags and eye rings…hmmm…because of my sleeping habits ( i sleep at 2am ) and nowadays it seems worst because i study till 3am. Oppa’s mother will recommend me a plastic surgery clinic in Busan for eye bag removal. But im still thinking to do it or not. They always warn me about “monster doctors” . In Korea,  there is a term called “monster doctor”. Some clinics are very popular because of that 1 doctor. He can only attend to a number of surgeries per day and of cos to maximise profit, some actually “change” the operating doctor when you were asleep under  anaesthesia . So sometimes you paid more for that doctor but actually the one operating you is not him. It is other doctor. It happened sometimes to foreigners and some people actually wrote on forums about the incident too because they find it weird that the doctor they chose doesn’t seem to know anything and don’t know the type of  surgery the patient went for. It even happened to very popular and famous clinics. It was in Korea’s news. Even my gfs also warn me so they always tell me to go to one which was referred to you by people you know and trust. Prices for locals and foreigners are different too. It seems like that to me. A gf who worked in the beauty industry in Korea told me that there are 2 price lists in some clinics . One for locals and one for foreigners which is more pricey. All these things made me hmm…scared. And Oppa found me news articles that was published last year about failed surgery. Somemore this is eyebag surgery..near the eyes leh..so abit concerned about it.

Of cos not all clinics are bad. There are good ones . But ..still must think properly. If i do it and i dont like how i look , i can’t reverse it.

Anyway , no hurry . Shall make do with concealer while i think and consider about it. Already consider for 1.5 years.

Gonna blog about black heads removals and pore care in a few days’ time  !

Need to study for 3rd paper.

Now that im not modeling for my own online shop , it is time to take good care of my hair. Constant styling dried up my hair. Kinda disappointment when i went to Korea in March hoping to get C-curls done but i couldn’t because of my bad hair condition. The ends were damaged and i have to cut off at least 5 inches if i want to go for C curls.

Whenever my friends are going to Korea, they will message me for hair salons recommendation because i always get my hair done there ( cut , wash , dye and hair treatment ). Prices there are very cheap actually. Cheaper than any salons in shopping malls and their services are impeccable.

Like the one i went in March – Hwamiju Hair Salon. When i walked in , a staff greeted me and gave me the “hair menu” when i asked for it. I told them what i wanted to do which was C-curl perm (and my bf’s mother insisted to the staff and asked for the salon’s top and head stylist to evaluate my hair because she doesn’t want anyone to do my hair just like that. She knows that for good curls , you need to have good hair condition ) . The lady lead us to a wating area where there is a huge sofa , coffee table and magazine . A lady asked if im hungry and what drinks i want. She brought alot of snacks and coffee for us because i told her i was quite hungry. Another lady brought me to a nice locker room to keep my belongings and passed me the key. She then helped me with a robe. And i went back to my seat to have my coffee and snacks . She put a pillow on my lap so that i do not need to strain my neck when i read the magazines. Then she brought me to one of the seats and the head stylist started evaluating my hair and concluded that my ends were damaged so i can’t get it done 😦  Either i have to cut 5 inches ( which is long bob hair ) or maybe just next time.

Then , another lady brought me back to my sofa so i can continue my coffee , snacks and magazines while waiting for my bf to cut his hair. Their services are great. I had my hair dyed , treated , cut , wash and blow before. The hair stylist stayed with me from start to end. The only time i have to wait was to wait for her to bring her tools or serums etc.

Whereas in SG , some salons tried to maximize profit and allocated 3 customers to one stylist within the same time slot. I ever had an experience where a simple and basic hair cut , dye , treatment , wash and blow took 5 hours from lunch till almost dinner time.

I remember i have to wait 20 minutes for the stylist to check my hair after the shampoo lady finished applying the hair dye. And then another 20 minutes after washing the dye off before confirming with the shampoo lady what treatment for me and another 20-30 minutes after the treatment wash or stylist to come and another 15 minutes for stylist to come after shampoo lady dry my hair for the stylist to do the final touch up. Spent almost 2 hours waiting for nothing when all could be done in just mere 2-2.5 hrs. Total took 5 hours.

My hair cut , dye , wash , cut and treatment took only 2.5 hours in Korea.

Some of my friends told me they went to some salons in Gangnam and were charged more than $400 for a perm. Well, some salons target tourists and they price it very high. Or you go to those super high end ones then yes maybe it can be very expensive but for a popular local salon chain it should not be that expensive because i was never quoted for that kind of high price. I was quoted only KRW 120,000 for hair dye , 4 steps treatment , cut , wash and blow at a popular local salon chain and KRW 80,000 for C-curl perm at Hwamiju for my hair length and my friend went there for s-curl perm and paid only KRW 120,000. The prices were from the “hair menu”. Perhaps when you go into the salon , instead of asking for price , ask for the menu instead so that you can see the prices yourself. But of cos , some menu are only in Korean so if you can’t understand or read, it will be abit of a challenge. My bf’s mum told me that perms are not very expensive in Korea because alot of people do C-curls or S-curls which are very common and normal.

I got this from Korean internet Naver.com for you guys. But im not sure if this is the updated price list or not ( The source was dated 2013) . So you have to ask to confirm the price again because it depends on your hair conditions , length and what kind of perm you want to do. This is just a guide okay and gives you a rough gauge of the price.

Hwamiju is a popular and good hair salon and has alot of chains. My bf’s m0ther recommended this one to me and im super impressed with the service  ( though i can’t get my hair perm done ).

Perm

First column reflects normal price and 2nd column ( which is the cheaper pricing are local student price ).

Normal perm – KRW 77,000

Fringe Perm – KRW 16,500 ( good for people with fringe and hate to curl your hair or blow your hair everyday after shower . You see Kpop boy bands with perm and curly fringe ? Yup that’s how they do it. They perm it )

Texture perm , Setting perm , Ceramic perm – KRW 88,000

The most expensive one KRW 209,000 is Volume Magic and Setting Perm.

Some people do volume magic at the top part of their hair and setting perm at the bottom. Volume magic is a kind of rebonding which doesn’t flatten your hair like those normal rebonding. The first impression on rebonding is that you will end up with hair that is so flat that sticks to your face. But nope .. i had it done before and this kind of rebonding actually adds volume while keeping your hair straight and doesn’t flatten your hair.

So , im super determined to get my perms done.

So i need to maintain and get it treated right ?
So during my trip to Korea, i went to buy my 6 steps hair care from Mise-en-scène .

It was a last minute buy just the night before i flew back to SG. I wanted to buy Daenggi moori and another good brand but i couldnt find it at Lotte Mart so i got this cheaper one instead since 2 shampoo + 1 condition is going at a promotional price of KRW 10,000. So i got another 2 tubes of treatment , 2 repair hair oil and 1 hair essence under the same PEARL SHINING RANGE. I love this shampoo because of the smell and it doesnt dry up my hair.

And i got these 2 too from Olive and Young. I bought 10 packs home. They cost KRW3,900 and KRW 4,500 respectively.

These are hair steam pack .When you go to salon for hair treatment , they coat your hair with some serums or hair oil and steam your hair right ? Now there is the DIY version in Korea, just apply the hair serum/oil (which is included in the pack) and wear the hair cap that was given. You will slowly feel the heat in the cap. Wash off after 20 minutes.

The first one was from Mise En Scene. It is 2 steps treatment. Step 1 , tear open the bottom orange portion and spread the treatment cream on your hair and massage. And then tear the step 2 part where the cap was. Wear the hair cap , fasten it and massage your scalp. You will slowly feel abit of heat and then just wait for 15 minutes before you rinse it off and condition your hair. I tried this and my hair comes out very smooth and smells soooo nice. I do this treatment before i go out so that my hair looks really nice before i go out. Easy to comb , blow and curl with hair curler. Smooth and nice. Cost KRW 3,900 at Olive and Young but it is cheaper in Lotte Mart ( KRW 3,000).

This was from Mediheal and cost KRW 4,900 at Olive and Young. I cant find it at Lotte Mart. Mediheal has nice and good facial and eye masks too which are available at Olive and Young. I bought their eye patch masks and i love it. I didnt know they have hair steam packs too.

This one is abit different from the one on top. This is just 1 step. The hair cream is already in the cap. So you just need to wear the cap , fasten it and massage your hair and scalp. The heat from this pack is stronger than the one from Mise En Scene. The heat from the Mise En Scene steam pack not that strong but this one i can feel the heat on my scalp. Results also come out with smoother and manageable hair. It smells really good too ! After 15 minutes , just wash off and then condition your hair.
