Here was part of the 3 weeks break in Netherlands which i was looking forward to.
We are heading to Paris ! 4 days 4 nights in Paris.

Oppa was in charged of booking the hotels , train tickets and the monies. whereas im in charge of packing luggages and other logistic stuff or more like welfare part.  We only booked our hotel/guest house the day before our trip to Paris on Thursday night.

So , we took a train from Rotterdam Central , Netherlands to Paris Nord station on Thursday night. Train ride took 2 hours only.

D managed to book a Korean guest house in Paris for our stay. Yes you are right , many Koreans operate guest houses/ inns in Paris. Everything was communicated via Kakaotalk in Korean so Oppa is the one taking care of it. The location is central and best part is that the metro station is just right infront of the apartment lobby. And the pricing is cheaper than other hotels we looked for. It is more like a B&B ( Bed and Breakfast ). This B&B has total of 6-7 rooms and there are rooms with twin , queen beds or family room. Or you can just rent a bed and share the bunk bed with other guests.  We booked the double room with Queen bed. It comes with balcony , fridge , dressing table and Evian water etc.

The guest house is very clean and neat. Very new and feels soo homely. The owner changes your sheets and towels daily and prepare Korean breakfast and deliver it to your room every morning at 8.30am.

The owners are Koreans and they speak Korean , English and French. All of the B&B guests are Koreans. Very nice lady and she picked us up from the metro station to the house. And she taught us where to go , what to do and what to look out for ( pick pockets and some cultural habits in Paris ). This is the part which i really like because you can contact her any time to ask for directions or give her a call. So we felt really comfortable and the place feels so homely yet like a hotel. Very clean.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The kitchen is open for guests to use. Free flow of Korean instant noodles and can help yourself with the side dishes and kimchi in the fridge.

TOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The main area where you can seat and read books or info about Paris or have your meal if you don’t like to have it in your room. Maps and plastic fans are provided in the drawer.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We arrived at 10pm in Paris and ready to tuck into bed after my hot cup of Korean instant noodles with Kimchi.

The next morning , we woke up at 8.30am for our breakfast.
Gosh i love it. Because i haven had rice for a looong time since i arrived in Netherlands. Was soo happy when i tasted Korean food. Finally ASIAN FOOD.

I can’t have pasta, pizza and sandwiches everyday for 3 meals. Getting really sick of them.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After our hearty meal ( which i swear i really want to ask for one more serving but paiseh to do so ) , we changed and ready to head out to explore Paris.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Paris style , they like to just sit back and relax. Lying on the grass field , reading a book , have a wine , food , great company , great weather and everything was so nice. Probably can’t do this in SG even in Botanic Gardens . The grass and soil are too wet and leaving your bottoms dirty. But in Paris , the grass are really clean and you can just lay down and relax.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We were relaxing in this breezy weather and reading our guide book to check where to go next.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We continued our walk and coincidentally discovered Pierre Herme ! I swear this is better than Laduree. Sorry to Laduree fans but after trying from both brands , i prefer Pierre Herme the most. People who have tried Pierre Herme before do agree with me. We only found 3 outlets in Paris and not sure of this outlet because this seems to be the only one serving the Isaphans and the one i went to in Opera only sells chocolates and macaroons.

The Isaphan is sooo damn nice !

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I bought this Isaphan ( middle one ) and it is soooo damn niceee ! I wanna have 2 but i bought the last one and some macaroons.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

After our dessert  , we went for lunch at a French restaurant. We saw many locals streaming in and it was crowded so we decided to go for it. Cant remember the location but opposite is a huge LV boutique. There is no queue for this LV boutique probably because it is not in the central area like Champs Elysees.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

No menu in this restaurant. They just sell steaks with salad and fries as sides. That’s all. You cannot choose your fries or salad.

The only question the waitress ask was “how would you like your steak to be done?” and “what drinks would you like to have ?”

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Steak is really juicy and nice !

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Our lunch costs EUR 62.90. Abit shock at the food prices in France compared to Belgium, Prague and Netherlands. Even when i went shopping , there are price tag indicating the different prices even they are all in Euros. France is about EUR5 more expensive than other countries in European union.

After our awesome lunch , we continued our walk and chanced upon Laduree. Of cos , gotta try the macaroons. The queue was so long.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We left Laduree with a box of 8 macaroons.

We were walking down to Musee Du Louvre when we saw many people wearing fashionably and didn’t realised that it was Paris Fashion Week event at Musee Du Louvre. So we just joined in and i started taking pictures and sitting one corner and looking at how others dressed up . Looking for inspirations.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here are some pictures i took. It was too crowded with camera flashing here and there. What i like about Paris is that you can walk into any cafes/restaurants or shop fronts to take pictures of your outfit even with an entourage of photographers and no one chases you away. But in SG if you were to do that , you get shooed away

.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A sea of people at Paris Fashion Week.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We really walked alot and fortunately i was wearing my sneakers. If not my legs gonna hurt. D told me to bring Agneselle’s clothes out to change to take pictures but i don’t want to because i just want to spend time with him and relax and not always looking for nice places to take pictures of the clothes and spend like 2-3 hours doing that. Because i have to search for toilets and change in and out.

We carried my bag of Pierre Herme Isaphan around and decided to eat it Paris style which is lying down on a grass patch , my head on D’s chest and chewing this Isaphan away. Lol.

Cant miss the Effiel Tower in Paris. Love sitting at the field infront of the tower and sweet talking with D .

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We took a train back to our B&B at night. We were soo tired but we had a fulfilling first day in Paris.

And we woke up the next morning with my favourite food for breakfast.

Chap Chye and Kimchi Soup !

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It was shopping day. We went to Saint Honore where you can find Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Prada, YSL, Givenchy etc etc and other high end brands in one street. I didn’t get anything though. I am more of shopping at an outlet kind of person because it is cheaper ! I got my Prada wallet for EUR 60 at a Prada outlet in Italy 2 years ago. D got his mum a scarf for present from here. It is very near Champs Elysees and you can walk there.

We had our dinner at Cafe George V at Champs Elysees. I had awesome Steak Tartare. So nice i can have one more and the service there is good.

We went for the EUR 16.50 set which comes with an appetizer , main , dessert and coffee or tea. Very cheap and nice. We went for the escargots , chicken , lemon tart and pudding.

DSC00952s DSC00953s DSC00957s

After that , we rushed back to our B&B for our luggages and to the train station to take a train back to Rotterdam !

I wish i can turn back time and go back to Europe again 😦

Trying to recover from jetlag and Europe trip withdrawal.

I love quaint little towns in Europe like Ghent in Belgium and Leiden in Netherlands. Especially those where not many people visit or know about because it is more quiet. Leiden is one of them.

Next time if i were to go to Europe , im gonna stop by the little towns via train.

Here is Leiden in Netherlands.

We took a train from our home base in Rotterdam Central to Leiden and it only about 20 minutes.

Leiden is famous for tulips in Spring. You can see tulips fields in Leiden during Spring. The canals are beautiful and you can rent a boat where you can have lunch , picnic and chill out with your partner. But you need to have a license. Oppa holds a license to operate ships/vessels because he was a 2nd officer on a ship back in Korea. We wanted to rent a boat but we ran out of time and have to continue our journey to Amsterdam.

This stall sells the famous raw Dutch brined herring. Like sashimi , it is raw and you just gulp the whole fish down.

You definitely have to try this if you are in Netherlands. One of their famous traditional food.

We ate it the traditional Dutch way .

It was freshly prepared. This stall is so popular that the owner just kept scaling and removing the bones for his customers. Once he is done , he just pass you the fish on the plate where you drizzle it with onions and just pop the whole thing into your mouth.

OMG IT IS SO FRESH and YUMMY !

We had 4-5 of them.

Just tooo fresh ! Everything done on the spot and you just eat it all raw.

We just stood at the side of the stall and ordered one after another. I prefer this than Japanese sashimi.

Yes , it is raw and soo tender. The skin , bones and head were removed on the spot after you place your order.

The locals standing beside us taught us how to eat the Dutch way. Which is to hold the fish high up and just put the whole thing into your mouth and chew.

Both of us really enjoyed it. The Dutch were kinda amused and amazed how we “dare” to eat this raw fish and  how we kept ordering for more. Probably because this is a small town and they don’t see alot of tourists here except locals. So the locals were very kind and helpful teaching us how to eat it the Dutch way. It cost only EUR 1.75 per fish.

Ahh i should have went to Haarlem , Delft , Den Haag and Maastricht by myself when D was at work. But i have to work in the day and can only travel from Fri to Sun . Maastricht will definitely be on my list if i were to go to Europe. And Bruges in Belgium too ! These are beautiful towns.

Being in Netherlands for 3 weeks and just got to know how to read Dutch menus because in places like Leiden , Rotterdam and some other towns/cities,  you can’t really find menus in English though Dutch all speaks really good and fluent English. And i just got to learn how to pronounce the words.

Broodjes means sandwich

Kip means Chicken

Garnalen means Shrimps

Bier means Beer

Frites means Fries

Welkom means Welcome

Dank Je Wel means Thank you

Goede Morgen means Good morning

Zeer Bedankt means Thank you very much

There are many more and as time goes by , i can read abit of basic Dutch menu. Some are pretty similar to English.

Ahhh i wish i can turn back time and start my trip all over again.

Prague is really beautiful but over crowded with tourists every single corner. Chances of being photo bombed is almost 100%.

It was really an adventure. Well , we missed our train ride to Prague. D booked a sleeper room for the overnight train ride. The train was supposed to depart from Amsterdam Central but goondu us thought it was Rotterdam Central ( which is our home base because D’s office is there and we have an apartment there). We though we were “f**ked”. We went to the treinplanner at Rotterdam Central and asked for any train rides available to Prague. Well you see we booked our air ticket back from Prague and hotels etc. So we have to get there.

The treinplanner suggest that we go to Utrecht (Netherlands) which is near the border of Germany to hop on to a train which was scheduled to leave by 9pm. So we run to the spoor ( platform ) and hopefully we can catch on the train which goes to Prague. Well…worst Deja Vu ever , the train we booked was delayed for 30 mins and the train that was supposedly to head to Prague at 9pm was our train ! ( Our train departs from Amsterdam and stops at Utrecht to pick up other passengers before heading to Prague ). DAMN ! Our train from Rotterdam arrives at Utrecht at 8.59pm and we missed our train ! Super devastated. But then a very kind treinplanner in Utrecht told us not to give up and we can get definitely to Prague. But firstly , we need to go to Germany and from there we travel from town to town by train to get to Prague. Which means we need to cross Netherlands to get to Germany. And to get to a big city in Germany so that we can find trains to cross over Germany to Prague. The treinplanner worked out a plan for us. Which is to get to Cologne in Germany and from there , we can take a train to Nurnberg and from Nurnberg we take a bus to Prague.

Oh well , we did that. So we crossed the whole of Germany from Netherlands via train and bus to get to Prague , Czech Republic.
Damn lucky , we got the last bus seats to Prague.

Rotterdam , Netherlands -> Utrecht , Netherlands -> Cologne , Germany ->Nurnberg , Germany -> Prague , Czech Republic.

Best of all , we went to Prague without any Korunas ( Czech Republic currency ). Fortunately , there are many citibank ATMs in Prague. It is better to withdraw from ATM than to exchange in Europe because some money changers charge commissions up to 2% (even though they mentioned 0% , but they already included in the rate they gave you ) .

Well this was a picture taken from our bus ride to Prague from Nurnberg , Germany

 DSC00632s

Finally we arrived in Prague at 12pm. 2 hours later from our scheduled time if we were to take our train from Amsterdam Central station. But better than nothing. We didn’t sleep the whole night because we have to keep changing trains and rush to buy our tickets except for the 4 hours wait in Cologne because the train to Nurnberg departs at 4am but we arrived in Cologne at 12am midnight. Practically we took 18 hours to get to Prague from Rotterdam Central via trains and a bus.

Our hotel’s location is really great. It is located at old town and just right near this clock tower and city center. Just 2 minutes walk. The price of the hotel is not expensive too and it comes with breakfast for 2. Service was great.

Everyone was waiting for the clock to strike every hour. See how crowded Prague is ? Super crowded so beware of pick pockets.

I love the streets.

Please wear a comfy pair of sport shoes because you have to walk ALOT ! Saw a girl wearing heels and her heels were like slanted because of the pavements. If you want to take OOTD , bring your heels to change just for that photo will do. If not your legs gonna hurt real bad. I bought this pair from Netherlands and i love it. Saw everyone in Netherlands wearing black trainers and i thought it looks good so i went to try and i have to get it ( since my old shoes spoilt and the soles came off ).  I love this black classic NIKE trainers. Love the sport shops in Rotterdam especially the ones at Footlocker ( a shop which you can find in many European cities and they have a huge selection of sport wears and sport shoes.). They have hundreds of designs esp NIKE ones. The designs are soo nice !!! I don’t know why but i can’t seem to find nice trainers in SG. The colours are not that striking or nice.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Simply love the streets. Very nice photo spot.

It was raining on that day and weather was cool. Abit cold at times but a rider jacket can keep you warm. Im a big fan of rider jackets. Got like so many of them. I buy them when i travel to HK, Korea and China because they are cheap and nice.

Food was cheap and good.

But the service was really erm…RUDE. Not the bad service you expect but the super RUDE service. They just fold their arms infront of you and tell you in an irritated tone ” There is no food. Just drinks ” and if you asked ” No food ? ” ( like how can a restaurant say NO FOOD at 4pm ????!! ) and they just fold their arms and tell you ” Yah NO FOOD “.  And saw how they tell off other Caucasian tourists that too in a rude manner.
The best lunch we had was at Hotel U Prince which is right infront of clock tower.

I love Prague because of the architectures and food. If i were to compare Prague and Ghent , i definitely prefer Ghent because not alot of Asian tourists know about this place. Infact you hardly see any and the architectures are soo pretty like you are in a fairytale story with Chateaus , castles and old fortresses.

So , i just came back to Rotterdam from Paris , France last night. Back to the land of tall and lean people. Everyone here is soooo tall and lean. It makes me feels like a dwarf. I look so tiny here. Paris is only 2 hours train ride away. Well , i still have to blog about my Prague and Belgium trip before i move on to Paris blog post. My favourite is definitely Belgium. I am not really impressed with Paris after i have been to Ghent and Prague. Paris is a good shopping place and good food but i prefer the architectures in Belgium and Prague. Paris is just too crowded and you get photo-bombed in every photo.

First weekend in Europe.

So , we travelled from Rotterdam ( Netherlands ) to Ghent (Belgium) and on the way back to Rotterdam ,  we stopped by Antwerp (Belgium) for half a day. You can read my blogpost about Ghent here. It is  a pretty small top with beautiful architectures.

I love Belgium !

Antwerp central station is beautiful and i love the architectures. It really has a strong European feel.

You can buy strawberries from the small stalls found in the central station. They sell really nice strawberries. I have strawberries almost once every 2 days here in Europe.

The city centre and square are just 5 minutes walk from the central station. Everyone in Belgium is really helpful and they speak good English.

The Cathedrals are soo pretty and architectures are soo damn nice. I just wanna find a cafe , sit down to have my cup of coffee, desserts and enjoy the view. Never get sick and tired of it. Shops closed after 6pm and every Sunday. So the town is alittle bit quite on Sundays.

Travelling by bicycle is a good way to explore the city. Or you can walk.

Trust me , you will lose weight. I lost over 3kg over here in Europe. Because i walk alot EVERDAY. At least 4 hours per day non-stop and the maximum was 10 hours a day in Prague and Paris. Even my tights felt so loose now and D commented that i really lost weight. Actually both of us did.

Walking or cycling is the only way to explore the small towns or cities. But becareful when you rent a bike because cases of bicycle thefts are common.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

You definitely have to try the street food and the Belgium mussels , waffles, chocolates and ice creams. Everyone knows Belgium is well known for chocolates and waffles.

DSC00593f

One more local food that you have to try is Frites ( fries with several choice of sauces ) . You definitely have to have it when you are in Belgium and Netherlands. Frites are popular local snacks. Go for mayo sauce and with onions if you like it.

So we had Frites in Antwerp at a popular frite store. The queue was so long.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Serving was huge and it was only about EUR 3.60. We went for the mayo sauce with onions.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Antwerp is a small town and you probably just need few hours here. Ghent and Antwerp in just 2 days.

Glad that Rotterdam is just an hour train ride away from these cities and we can go there over the weekend for a day anytime.

My first weekend in Europe.

D and i travelled to Belgium the day after i arrived a week ago. We spent our weekend in Gent and Antwerp in Belgium ( 2 days 1 night ). These 2 towns are pretty small so 2 days is enough to go around . That week was cold and windy. Temperature was about 10-15 degrees with strong wind. I wore skirt and stockings but weather was so windy that i have to change to pants.

Gent/Ghent is a beautiful town. It was about 2 hours train ride from Rotterdam with a transfer at Roosendaal (South of Netherlands) . Really beautiful and fairytale like architectures. Not a common travel destinations among Asians because not alot of people heard about this place in Belgium. Most people just know about Brussels/Bruxelles which is capital city.

We booked a B&B ( bed and breakfast ) room on a boat. There are alot of boat B&B inns and we decided to go for it instead of hotels. Never stay on a boat before. It is EUR 65 per night with breakfast included. We booked one that was eco-friendly because the rest of the boat B&B inns we shortlisted were full.

The owner was really helpful and friendly. He is fluent in English and in the B&B , you can take maps on different cities in Belgium and Gent for free. It is only 5 mins walk from the city centre.

Just 5 minutes walk away is the city centre with beautiful architectures. You can to see traditional Belgium houses with the zig zag squarish roofs , chateaus , fortresses and churches. DSC00416s

The architectures are fairy-tale like. Like a castle.

We went for a boat tour. It is not expensive. EUR 6.50 per pax for a 45 minutes boat tour around the canals with a guide. DSC00545s DSC00532s DSC00531s DSC00528s DSC00526s DSC00513s DSC00489s DSC00486s DSC00475s DSC00474s DSC00444s DSC00433s

Food in Belgium are cheaper than Netherlands.

Belgium is famous for their chocolates  , Cuberdons and waffles so you got to try them !

Belgium and Netherlands are well known for their juicy red strawberries too !

Strawberries were sooo yummy and huge. I love it.

I went to this shop 3 times to satisfy my strawberries , waffles and Belgian chocolate ice cream cravings.

EUR 5 for generous amount of juicy strawberries with whipped cream. You can ask for chocolate drips if you don’t like whipped cream.

Yes i had it 2 times ! DSC00496f

Belgian chocolate are soo nice esp the home made chocolates and home made ice creams. I go for home made ones only because they taste really good and authentic.

Cuberdons were everywhere. I was curious how it tasted like so we bought a pack for EUR 2. Raspberry flavored candy which is made of gum arabic. Soft in the inside like jelly and hard on the outside. I don’t really like it because it was too sweet !

That sums up our first day in Gent , Belgium. 13th Sept as Gent festival and there are performances by the canals . We sat down on the steps along the canals , enjoying our repeated servings of Belgian home made chocolates , ice creams , waffles and strawberries and watched the concert. We head home at about 10pm because the weather was turning colder and very windy.

The next day , we checked out at about 10am and did our last tour in the city centre before taking a train to Antwerp which is along the border between Netherlands and Belgium. It is only about 30 minutes train ride back to Rotterdam. So we decided to stop by at Antwerp before heading back to Rotterdam.

Blogging next on Antwerp soon 🙂

My 5th day in Netherlands now.

I had a good sleep during my 12 hours plane ride and coincidentally , a friend of mine was a cabin crew on the flight 🙂 I haven’t seen her since after graduating from Uni.

D was attached to Rotterdam in Netherlands for a couple of months and we will be flying back to SG in October together. Rotterdam is the 2nd biggest city in Netherlands. His company gave him an apartment and im currently staying at his apartment in Rotterdam. It is our base and it is so near the train station and travelling to places like Germany , Belgium , Paris and Spain is easy and probably need 30 mins-2 hours at most. The house was really nice except that i have to climb that steep stairway everyday which is really tiring and tedious for my thigh muscles.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Look at how steep it is. I have to climb up like a ladder everyday. Good thing is that he lives on the 2nd floor. I cannot imagine climbing up to the 3rd or 4th everyday.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yes , i have to climb these everyday.

My first meal when i touched down in Amsterdam and 15 mins metro ride to Rotterdam.

The most yummy meat balls i ever had. Seriously nice. The outside was cripsy hot and inside was soft and tender. OMG. Heavenly !

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Spicy Tuna Pasta was really addictive and the most popular dish at the restaurant – Atlantic Lunch Room. The price was reasonable at about EUR 10 each. Portion was huge and will suggest 2 to share 1 bowl instead. I was struggling to finish my bowl even though it was really nice. Just too much and i wanna sleep after every meal here. Too much carbs.

The park was just beside our apartment. It was really nice and clean. Infact , Netherlands is a really clean country. The food were fresh and organic too. That’s why you will see the expiry dates on every food packaging because there are no preservatives and really fresh. They are cheap too ! It is cheaper to eat at home than eat out actually. So i try to cook once every 2-3 days. Breads were fresh and were made on the same day itself. No leftovers.

Shopping in Rotterdam City Centre – Lijinbaan .
You will see lotsa of Zara , Pull and Bear , Berksha , H&M etc etc. They are everywhere and every buidling and they are huge. The shopping area is just 5 mins walk away from our apartment. The good thing about living near the City Centre.

In Netherlands , you will see a mixture of old architectures and sky scrapers.

I make breakfast or D once every 2 days and sometimes he will pass me allowance and i will buy ingredients to cook lunch or dinner for both of us. He receives allowance from his company every week so basically , our meals are provided.

The groceries are not expensive. The 6 pairs of chicken wings (with drums)  marinated with spices was only EUR2.49 and broccoli was EUR0.49. Udon was from SG at $1 per pack. Our ice tea was only EUR 1.29. So this meal costs us less than SGD 8 for 2 pax to  cook at home. Healthy food.

Yeah..i cooked our lunch today ! So nice right. I can’t believe my cooking skills either lol. I made Kimchi Soup and Korean BBQ Pork Belly on the first day in Rotterdam last week. Because someone was craving for home cooked Korean food.

Kimchi Udon Soup , Boiled Broccoli fried with oyster sauce and Marinated spicy chicken wings and Sparkling Ice Tea. Oh i love this Sparkling Ice Tea and probably gonna bring few bottles back. Can’t find it in SG supermarkets.

I love the salads,  pizzas , pastas and sandwiches here but i cannot imagine myself eating that everyday for 2 meals. The menu are always the same in the restaurants here in Netherlands. It is either smoked salmon , tuna , bacons , beef patty , chicken patty etc etc etc. Abit sian already just after 5 days.

Last weekend , we took a train to Belgium which is just next to Netherlands. 2 days 1 night in Belgium. Will blog about it once i loaded all the pictures from my camera. There are more than 600 pics. Gosh !

Anyway , have a good day and im heading back to work. Lol im not really on a holiday or travel trip. I have to wake up early to work before i go out and hang around.
